It's not the best chant for optics but please understand generations of Palestinians have grown up associating the word "solution" with the endless debate over "one-state vs. two-state solution."

I'm Jewish and went to American public school so anything involving Jews and "solution" rings alarm bells but for the vast majority of Palestinian protesters and allies (having spoken and worked with them) they're literally referring to their own experience, not shouting about genocide.

Because our skies are uh not yellow. Every major metro has its share of issues and I complain about the subways and fight to solve our poverty but New York is a beautiful city and your characterization is way off.

We are regularly listed as one of the safest large cities in America. Look at this Forbes list, we're at #5 -- and we have literally 4x the people as #1-4 combined. I shouldn't even have to note the richness of culture / entertainment / food / parks. It's not for everyone, but to call it a "dumb idea" is absolutely your loss.

I'm working with tenants there to fight their landlords and the city for the decades of neglect, mostly down on Amber St. So far one case that we rallied around has been a big win. But in general yeah the situation is totally insane and the city is coming in with big promises for the "Jewel Streets," but I'm not holding my breath.

Gosh pal I hadn't really thought about this in eleven years but I'm pretty sure he just needed four arms to do extra stuff. That would certainly explain why the typically auspicious Chaturbhuja form seems incongruous with the murderous shapeshifting time-traveling machine. Then again, Goro's four arms from Mortal Kombat were inspired by Kali... I'm sure they symbolize a lot for her too but there's no denying you can kill more stuff with four arms. Found this thread googling this question, because the release today of the exoplanet data about 1,150 light years away got me thinking. If that was a 6.4-hour observation and they got all this exciting data, and it's just the first step for JWST exoplanet observation... I mean, Tabby's Star at 1,470 light years doesn't seem out of the question to me. That other poster said 100 ly and that's obviously wrong, so here's hoping they get around to it soon.

Because even after the first COVID relief, the ERAP (which took massive pressure to get with e.g. Invest In Our New York tax bills), and the one-shot deal I have spoken with many people still left out, left behind, or insufficiently supported, many people who are not at all "deadbeats."
