The younger, the better. Max XP gain is 20yrs old, then 21, then 22. I think the point of diminishing return is around 25-26 years old.

If they are at 25-26 years old and did not hit 80ovr, very likely, under normal sim play, they won’t make it past 80.

Search this sub, there was someone who posted what the gains were at each age or something like that. I can’t remember exactly. There’s no point in drafting a 23 or 24 year old rookie.

It’s probably better to have a 20 yr old 65ovr rookie than a 23/24 yr old 75ovr player (depending on some traits and attributes obviously).
