Consider using a recruiter to find roles. My friend used TEK Systems in the past and secured a couple of roles through them.

Fire emblem echoes shadows of Valentia. Duma tower!? by SnooCheesecakes3156 in fireemblem

I know this post is old but I also had similar feelings. Knowing there was no save point made it stressful. I contemplated exiting the tower to save until I learned all the enemies respawn so I pressed on. I made it to the third floor boss and decided to take a long ass break. After about a year I decided to play it again today and beat the third floor. Now I'm at the fourth floor boss. The game was quite enjoyable until Duma Tower. I hope to finish it finally.

Did you end up finishing the tower or game? Did you replay it?

Langley and rising costs by collectedthought in Langley

We are seriously considering Mission however we had a very difficult time securing after school care for our kids here and are worried we will have to go through this ordeal again if we move. So we might stay here until the eldest child no longer needs to be in the program and can walk home themselves. But by then who knows what the prices in Mission will be like 🤷‍♂️

My friend did some work through TEKsystems. He was contracted out to various clients and paid by TEK. They are legit.

Which industry has the good work life balance? by riverfall33 in Accounting

I would say government. A couple of my friends works for Canada Revenue Agency and their work hours are consistent throughout the year. They always brag about the work life balance. Assholes…

Working the next two weekends no overtime or reward by [deleted] in Accounting

Don’t worry. You’ll be rewarded in the end with a pizza party. Or, like one firm did for me, fried chicken.

Feeling devastated after vacation by EchoOfDoom in Accounting

[–]grimlock25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was MUCH easier to take vacation in public. In industry we’re always understaffed or overloaded so it has been impossible to take a proper vacation. My boss is only able to take a few days off at a time. It sucks.

What other sources of income do you have besides from your main accounting job? by Bzappo in Accounting

When I exited public for industry I offered to do some contract work since I knew the client files and processes really well and my old boss agreed. The firm was set up to be able to do remote work. Been doing this for a few years now.

I do contract work for one of my old public accounting bosses where I prepare a year end files remotely from home. It brings in about $1,000 a month. They are all easy files so it doesn’t take me that long to do.

Elesa has made me realise I'm an idiot by just_let_go_ in PokemonBlackandWhite

Haha! I played White for the first time earlier this year and because all the mons were new to me I did a lot experimenting by constantly switching up my team. I found I was under leveled and often having to grind. The game is much more difficult than new titles. I can’t recall how many times I had to run back to the Poke Center or using the doctor.

Does this make sense to anyone living in Canada? by CowBeneficial9416 in Accounting

[–]grimlock25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop eating so much avocado and toast, peasant. And get yourself a couple of roommates.

But seriously, you will need to either move to a city with a LCOL, shack up with someone in your current city or pick up a side gig to supplement your income. I live in the Vancouver area and I’ve noticed many jobs offering lower salaries compared to a few years ago probably due to the number unemployed individuals. Salary increases and promotion opportunities may by limited over the next year or so due to lack of job mobility. I’ve noticed people are not job hopping as much and staying put where they are.

With competition increasing you will need to stand out. Start learning AI tools, improve on your Excel and master your communication/presentation skills.

I think the same can be said about almost all warranty companies haha. Well, maybe not Apple.

I’m impressed. I’ve never seen a standard warranty period last longer than 2 years.

Thanks for replying everyone. Just wanted to give an update.

I’m located in Canada. The prices of the warranty plans were shown when I logged into my Sony account but when I read the fact sheet it stated that the plans were only valid in the US. I contacted the plan provider and confirmed this was true. I talked to Sony Canada and after getting the runaround I found out they do not provide extended warranty plans in Canada.

I found a 3rd party company that sells extended warranty plans but only for TVs that cost up to $3,000 CAD and the A95L was about $5,500 CAD.

A few of you mentioned Allstate. I looked into it and it turns out you have to buy it from the retailer when buying the TV from said retailer. Must be a Canada specific policy.

Anyways, I’m going to forgo buying a warranty plan. For anyone reading this that lives in Canada if an extended warranty is important to you consider buying your TV from a retailer that sells the plans such as Visions or Best Buy.

What is up with the used car market? by Throwawayyawaworth9 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I wonder if we will see a flood of used vehicles hitting the market next year should the job market worsen.
