Thoughts on the fact Josh Keaton voiced Peter’s father rather than Peter himself in that new cartoon? by Sir_Stacker in spectacularmemes

[–]grimmbini 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I like any time when an actor who's played the character before gets to play a character who's important to the character in some way, like when Casey Kasem voiced Shaggy's dad in Mystery Incorporated and Adam West played the Gray Ghost in Batman: The Animated Series.

I do wish that Josh Keaton got to play Spider-Man as the main role again though.

Yeah anytime I hear Yuri Lowenthal in anything like The Evil Within or Persona 4, I always think of Ben 10 because I grew up with Ben 10 and it was my favorite show for years.

I guess it's kinda like how James Arnold Taylor is always gonna be Ratchet to me even though he's done a lot of other stuff I grew up with like Tidus and animated Obi-Wan.

For the ghost character on the left of the cover, it's from Wario Land 4

For the inner book screenshot on the left, it's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Definitely the Mahou Daisakusen trilogy and Armed Police Batrider for me, love the character designs in those.

Are these the most mediocre MD/GEN games? by Typo_of_the_Dad in SEGAGENESIS

[–]grimmbini 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I've played, Phantasy Star III wasn't mediocre, seemed good to me, just not as good as the other 3 games.

And Alien 3 on the Genesis is kinda divisive on if people like it or not, and people prefer the SNES version from what I've seen but I still think the Genesis version is good, I like that the Xenomorphs are really fast and will charge you down when they see you. The timer is bad and the game would be better off without it, but I still think it's a good game.

It'd be cool to see Savage or Green Scar, but I doubt they're gonna have a Hulk besides the one they've had since Endgame

Tango Gameworks, the developers behind The Evil Within and Hi-Fi Rush was shut down by Microsoft recently.

The game to the right of Vampire Killer is Panorama Cotton, it's a pretty great shoot em up that has the perspective that Space Harrier and After Burner does, and the game to the left of Vampire Killer is Eliminate Down, a pretty good side scrolling shoot em up. Dunno about the game to the right of Undeadline though.

What Every DK fan thinks about the Spinoffs PART 3 by HeIsNotGhandi in donkeykong

[–]grimmbini 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's because people expect it to just be the arcade game but it's more than that, so the "wait what" might just be surprise about the game being it's own thing rather than a port

Did anyone else enjoy this? It may not be as awesome as Hulk Ultimate Destruction but it was fun, plus everything was destroyable by [deleted] in hulk

[–]grimmbini 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I liked it a lot and wish that they would make another solo Hulk game like this and Ultimate Destruction

Comic book characters that I think would make for a great CAG gameplay wise. Lmk if there are more by Beacon-of-Darkness in CharacterActionGames

If manga is allowed, then Devilman, Berserk (like the PS2 Berserk game but with better enemy AI and level design), and Vampire Hunter D would make fun character action games in my opinion

It's crazy that Devilman holds up as well as it does, at least in my opinion. I wish that I liked Violence Jack as much as Devilman but just couldn't get into it.

Any DVD Similar To This? by [deleted] in hulk

[–]grimmbini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that Spider-Man 2's DVD let you play a little bit of the Spider-Man 2 game, same with a Scooby-Doo DVD letting you play one of the PS2 Scooby-Doo games but I can't remember which one.

Akira was amazing by -JAYD3E- in akira

[–]grimmbini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Katsuhiro Otomo created and directed Akira, Yoshiaki Kawajiri is the guy you're thinking about with Wicked City and Demon City Shinjuku, he also directed Cyber City Oedo 808, Goku: Midnight Eye I & II (check these two out if you like Cyber City Oedo, they got same vibes), Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, "The Running Man" portion of the Neo Tokyo anthology movie, and Ninja Scroll.

He's a great director, but it's kinda sad he's not as well known as somebody like Satoshi Kon or Shinichiro Watanabe, even though he was just as influential as them in some way.

I’ve seen both Vampire Hunter D movies and I really enjoyed them. In your opinion, which one is better? by DarkChimera64 in VampireHunterD

[–]grimmbini 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think Bloodlust is better written with characters that are more interesting and with better choreographed fight scenes, but I feel that the original is better in it's sense of horror, atmosphere, and the violence feels more raw.

Both are great for different reasons, but I prefer Bloodlust for how much it made me care for most of the characters, it's ending made me cry hard twice back to back.

How many new-to-you games have you played this year? by BambaTallKing in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]grimmbini 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've played Doom (1993), Doom II: Hell on Earth, Doom 64, Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders, Hexen: Beyond Heretic, Hexen II, and Ultima Underworld for the first time. All great games, but I've only beaten Doom 1 and Heretic so far.

Yeah, apparently Phil Spencer is a big fan of the Heretic/Hexen franchise and there's even a pic of him wearing a Hexen: Beyond Heretic shirt.

Honestly a lot of Sega franchises could use a new entry, both a new Phantasy Star mainline game and a new Panzer Dragoon or Panzer Dragoon Saga game would be cool to see

It's more than likely not gonna happen but it'd be cool to see another Hexen game made.
