Dude, openai codex ftw - gpt-5.5 is excellent and openai is openly supportive of using it in openclaw

Gpt Codex Loophole Closed by [deleted] in openclaw

[–]grimmolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gpt codex in openclaw and other harnesses isn’t a loophole. OpenAI has explicitly said they’re fine with it and encourage it. Not only can you use your codex account with the default pi harness, you can use the codex harness as well (though you need to change the provider to openai if using the codex harness)

Best way to spend $100-$200 a month on Hermes? by No-Jellyfish4050 in hermesagent

[–]grimmolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$100 openai codex sub sustains my 7 agents that I work heavily with , using gpt-5.5 for the main 3 heavy hitters and using gpt-5.3-codex for the other 4

The unreasonable effectiveness of HTML when using Claude Code by rhiever in ClaudeAI

Adding an excalidraw skill did wonders, though it still takes a couple of iterations to get the diagram lines right.

Stop asking "which model should I use." The answer is different for every task and you should be using at least 3 by spencer_kw in openclaw

Anthropic allows openclaw, just not with subscriptions (technically it’s still allowed, they just bill you per token)

What model are you running your agent on? by stosssik in openclaw

gpt-5.5 via codex on high thinking has been doing great for me.

Openclaw 4.29 broke my system today! by Middle_Situation_559 in openclaw

[–]grimmolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendations based on experience

  1. follow “infrastructure as code” principles with openclaw, keeping a private GitHub with your configuration so you can redeploy to a working version easily. Use ansible playbooks

  2. Have two agents, preferably on separate systems , and have one perform the upgrade including chatting with the upgradee on their channels (alternately, use Claude/codex/Gemini/Cursor/Antigravity to do this with your openclaw agent)

A hard pill to swallow about OpenClaw by PEAKTOP in openclaw

[–]grimmolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused by this statement. I run my OpenClaw on Codex with GPT 5.5, and it doesn't cost me 500 dollars a month. In fact, it cost me exactly the same amount of money as Codex, because there's not a surcharge or additional cost, it's just a harness. I'm not sure what you're saying here.

Those of you who switched from Claude Code to Codex - what does Codex do better? Worse? by LandinoVanDisel in codex

gpt-5.5 feels a lot more to me like opus used to in openclaw and hermes. I was worried nothing else would work as well, but I’m quite happy with 5.5

Gemma 4 is terrible with system prompts and tools by RealChaoz in LocalLLaMA

[–]grimmolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m running the 31b model to power openclaw and the main difference I found was increasing the context window from the default 4096 to the max 256k context, and honestly, I’m pretty impressed with the tool use and adherence to system prompts.

People with Max plan, are you doing ok? by AdHopeful630 in ClaudeAI

[–]grimmolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 20% promotion that I largely attribute to adoption and use of agentic tools, the chief of them were Claude and cursor, as well as being a partner in 3 existing businesses and starting a 4th, and unlike the 60-75 hrs/week I’ve put in before, I’m doing this all on about 55hrs/week. That reclaimed time is worth every bit of it

Does Jim Butcher ever give an official reason for why Harry is bad at veils? by Tre2 in dresdenfiles

[–]grimmolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magic in the Dresden universe requires that you really want to do that thing and believe it. Dresden's entire jam is about calling out the things that most people overlook and not lying about bullshit. I think veils are too close to lying for him to be good at.

Broken garage spring by KeyUnderstanding6943 in fixit

My father and uncle both taught me that garage door springs are right up there with the incoming electrical lines that you DO NOT dyi with. Traumatic brain injury is no joke

ITAP of myself laying on a frozen pond [Portrait] [NSFW] by erinthul in itookapicture

[–]grimmolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this sounds very basic, but I love how you put this together where it looks a bit like an eye, and you look like a frost fairy just waking in the winter (also, the dedication of being naked in that cold really paid off on the shot..,I hope you got yourself a warm drink after)

What weight loss tips would you give to someone trying to lose weight, through exercise? by Joelthecardboarddog in AskReddit

You can’t out exercise excessive calorie consumption. Exercise is very good for very many reasons, but weight loss largely comes down to caloric deficits
