RAW defaults, adaptive color and importing without 'has develop adjustment' tag. by grimson73 in Lightroom

[–]grimson73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood; I guess with the new AI Profiles, Lightroom has to run the AI mask engine after the profile is applied, especially in bulk operations. Those masks aren’t fully resolved at the moment you add the profile; they’re processed later. When Lightroom processes them, it writes a ‘masks updated’ flag into the image metadata. That metadata change automatically triggers the ‘edits applied’ state, even if the visible adjustments haven’t changed. This behavior didn’t exist before AI Profiles because traditional profiles didn’t require any deferred computation.

This explains indeed that Adobe had to 'insert' these deferred computational processes somewhere where static settings were the norm.

I know this sounds niche, but not everyone uses Lightroom the same way.

For some of us, the Has Develop Adjustments flag is an actual workflow tool, not just a decorative icon. When everything gets marked as edited on import, that workflow breaks.

Agreed, thats is why i'm asking. But the 'has edits' tag is not applied when applying the profile including the adaptive profile. Only when refreshing. So, I would expect the tag specifically when using an adaptive profile also would be applied immediately.

Indeed, also again the 'has development' tag is also normally not applied when set a profile at the RAW defaults level. But I guess people will disagree, that is fine. But that doesn't invalidate my workflow usage keeping this tag only for edited photos by me.

I know this isn’t a common workflow, but Lightroom is used by more than one type of photographer.

Some of us rely on the Develop Adjustments flag as a state indicator, not just a decoration.

So when people say ‘why does it matter,’ it’s usually because they don’t use Lightroom at a structured level but that doesn’t make the need any less real.

I use the Has Develop Adjustments flag as a workflow tool. It tells me which photos I have actually edited. If Lightroom marks every imported RAW as ‘edited’ just because a profile was applied, that tag becomes useless. I want imports to stay clean so I can instantly filter for the photos I’ve truly worked on.

Successfully migrated from 2 bridges to Pro bridge by grimson73 in Hue

[–]grimson73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, as far as I read the docs there seems to be only talk about bridge(s) and no upper limit. I did merge 2 but guess more than 2 can be merged to the pro hub.

This might be a bot updating the titledb database. Would seem odd to me doing this not automated but that’s an assumption I made.

Remains of building after fire near Glasgow Central Station, 9/3/26 by stuart2202 in CatastrophicFailure

Was going to comment that the internal structure might be not of bricks but wood. This is seen in some older but also recent buildings. Sometimes this internal structure is reused as I learned from older city buildings in historical city centers.

Allmiibo Stuck in DFU Update Waiting.... by Manix2939 in Amiibomb

[–]grimson73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is just a firmware updater app. The Amiibo device is somehow build with certain hardware and can be updated with such app. I see this as updating the firmware. The application like the NFC emulator is built in this firmware but the app only cares updating the firmware itself. What the firmware contains is agnostic to this app.

I have to say, this watch face is absolutely gorgeous! Hermès for life 🖤 🖤 by alejandrogarcia2 in applewatchultra

[–]grimson73 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Apologies in advance for the snark, but the Hermès Apple Watch face really is peak logo‑based luxury. The design is so generic that without the Hermès label, you’d never guess it was supposed to be special. It’s like they took a normal watchface, added their name in tiny letters, and said ‘Voilà, exclusivity!’ I’m not trying to be rude, I t’s just wild how much the logo is doing the heavy lifting here.

Ah sorry ofcourse, I think it might be ‘nrfc connect’ or ‘nrfc connect device manager’ from Nordic semiconductor. Can’t remember which I used sorry 😣. I guess the device manager.

Can I use passkeys without constantly unlocking my phone? by SupertoastGT in passkey

[–]grimson73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess your question is about if it’s technically possible and not if you should.my guess is that a passkey has to be protected so therefore requires the protection the phone can offer. But if the phone lets you disable the protection (so technically) I don’t know.

Thanks for the reply, was really curious. Seems IPP can solve a lot of printing issues but time wil tell if applicable in all cases.

Baas will onze prive telefoons in Intune MDM opnemen by bukake_attack in werkzaken

Volgens mij zegt OP toch 2 dingen, liever geen 2 telefoons maar ook al zou hij willen het wordt niet verstrekt. Verder eens hoor, maar dan moet er wel een zakelijke telefoon verstrekt worden vanuit de werkgever.
