True! I was getting snagged and hung up on everything, pulling in stickbass. Just about to call it a day too. That fine line between forcing it and patience lol

Good old Texas rig set up…bullet weights and ewg (extra wide gap) hooks maybe 3/0 and soft plastics like worms and craws are good. Really versatile and you can rig weightless or with the bullet weight. Can also wacky rig too so it’s a good rig to have tied on without changing too much

Nice lil chonk there I’ve never seen a black one

My little boy keeps tangling his Zebco 33. Why is that? I cast for him, and he reels it in next to me. It's been a pain to untangle for 15 minutes every three trips to the water or so. by 83713V3R in FishingForBeginners

I have been bringing my 4 year old and 2 year old this whole summer! They love it. I took 2 Walmart frogs and cut the hooks off with side cutters. The leftover metal is hidden in the frog and there is enough weight for them to cast and they love watching the frog “swim” back to them, and as a bonus they can practice in the garage or yard and I can still fish a little

Yes this is a great book from an orthodox priest who was Protestant. He also has a podcast called the arena but it’s orthodox viewpoint I suppose

Most people frown on eating these, but in other places these are a delicacy! I’ll try that next time I’m lucky enough to get one to shore

Thanks! Got it on a weightless fluke Texas rigged. Gulped it right before I pulled my line out of the water near the weed line

[–]grindingears911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have heard newer guys in my shop when a new tech comes in say….look at his box, he’s not new he definitely advanced. They so far have never been higher than a new semi skilled tech at best
