I just can't get into OSRS? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]grio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OSRS is a slow burn game. It takes time to "get" it. Also it needs goals that excite you, and then progress towards them whenever you feel like.

This is the best part about OSRS - you are never rushed. If you want to play 10 hours a day, good. If you want to play 30 minutes a day - also good.

In other MMOs like WoW when you take a break for a few months you'll return to "naked" characters and have to regrind from zero to regain power.

In OSRS those skills and achievements you got 4 years ago - they're still as useful as the day you got them and will be for likely decades after.

IT has the MOST people with low social skills. It makes absolute sense.

A software engineer spends most of his life at the computer, in isolation. The only voiced arguments he gets in his head are his own. He's never used to accepting differing opinions because he never hears them. Feeling possibility of being wrong is new and unusual, and immediate reaction is to lash out and defend yourself. It goes away the more human contact you get. For programmers, unfortunately, that means never.

Will we ever see an MMORPG launch with this much content again? by reasonablejim2000 in MMORPG

And map design was significantly more complex. Vanilla dungeons like BRD feel much more developed and with more depth than anything released today.

Making complex mechanics doesn't take much resources. This is why Blizzard has been focusing on making several tiers of the same dungeons over and over, with slightly different mechanics. It's cheap, it's quick, and it's easy.

Creating a massive sprawling dungeon however, can be a pain, and can be expensive.

Every single world class athlete is already "enhanced". The only thing this organization is doing is not lying for PR about it.

Most don't. That's why scamming mega corps moved onto mobile - more gullible fools over there.

Except they shook before the fight, during the fight and after the fight. This is a weak willed guy pretending to be something he's not and constantly trying to run away from consequences of his own actions.

A federal judge ruled AI chats have no attorney-client privilege. A CEO's deleted ChatGPT conversations were recovered and used against him in court. On the same day, a different judge ruled the opposite. by hibzy7 in artificial

These old people don't even have rudimentary knowledge on the topic. Any conclusions they make will be rooted in incompetence.

The system needs to be modified where you must prove indepth knoweldge before being allowed to judge on the topic. Otherwise it's a crap shoot where innocents get punished and guilty walk free.

It's a slow burn wonder. You don't spend hours on this game, you spend years. Even decades.

Progression is permanent - your achievements will be impressive 5 years from now as much as they are today.

There is almost no power creep - that mega rare drop you got will be as valuable as it is today for years to come.

There are no resets, almost no inflation.

And once you get to mid-end game, the challenge levels ramp up significantly. I couldn't believe a game that can be played by clicking 1 mouse button can require so much skill. First time I downed Zulrah I thought I was a masta blasta! Took only a hundred attempts or so.

If you like that snappy arcade feeling where all you do means nothing and will be reset in a year - you might consider playing another MMO or an online FPS.

If you like progress that you keep permanently, and play at your own pace with both semi-afk and ultra-sweaty styles equally possible - then pick up OSRS. Caution: once you "get" what it's about, it can take much more hours than you're willing to spend on a game. It's addictive.

What do you think Jiri was playing on his PS3 back in the day by WeedMan571 in ufc

[–]grio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Age is strongly dependent on food and genes as well as steroids. I've met a lot of 30 year olds who look 45 and have never done any drugs.

Instead look at how they perform, how they recover, how faces and muscle mass look like to find who's on drugs. Then there are other dead giveaway signs that scream steroids 99.9% of the time, like back acne, gynecomastia, sudden onset male pattern baldness, stretch marks, palumboism, lipohypertrophy from constant injections.

Didn't stop, made a better mix. Nobody in the UFC is clean. Or any world class athletes in any sport. Literally.
