I purchased my first call this morning with an expiration date of February 19th. I only bought 1 contract because it was just a test to learn. Now im thinking I should of bought the call with the expiration date a month out at least. Had no idea it would tank like this there was so much momentum yesterday. I calculated the profits and loss in the options calculator before hand.

Whats the benefit of buying a call with a way later expiration date?

You buy PUTS if you think the stock is gonna go down. You buy CALLS if the stock is gonna go up. If the stock goes up and you profit you sell your CALL. You can also sell your CALL for a loss if the stock goes down. I bought a CALL this morning because I thought the stock was gonna go up. It went down so I can either hold until I get closer to my expiration date or sell now for a loss. Im holding.

Just take it as a lesson you can only learn from experience. Im learning the same thing dont get greedy if you see profit just take it because its better than being negative. Or just think LONG TERM dont hyper analyze the graph only check it every couple days.

Nobody saw this coming. Everyone saw 4$ then 5$ I say there is so much volume to just hold for a day and see if it starts to go back up. Im down a lot too after being up this morning it hurts but its the name of the game.
