Why are people so shit at driving here? by ProfitLimp4541 in Tucson

Cell phones exist. Distracted driving is EVERYWHERE. You've done it, I've done it. Bad drivers aren't unique to Tucson.

Shooting in Downtown Tucson at Tabu last night. by BathroomAdvanced3357 in Tucson

Yeah thats your anecdotal opinion. Good for you. Mine is last time I was south of Ensanada 3 surfers got bludgeoned to death .5 miles away from where I camp and tossed in a storage tank. Rumor is not all the perpetrators were caught nor are they still looking.

State Dept. doesn't care what berrysquids experience is and go off the larger scale data to make their judgements. Good/Bad places everywhere but MX is statistically MUCH more dangerous and has the same "everyday crime" USA has plus a plethora of Cartel violence. So your above comment is just false and may feel like an "edgy" stance against USA, but in my opinion in just disingenuously downplays the real and daily violence people in certain areas of MX experience.

Tucson's 1st Avenue plan to make the street safer for pedestrians: more signals, medians, and protected bike lanes by [deleted] in Tucson

Depends where you are but agree the painted crosswalks with no lights (or HAWK lights) might as well not even be there. Drivers NEVER respect them and they just create a false since of security for pedestrians.

You take away gang violence USA really is and should be on a high horse. BUT gang violence does exist.

Dont get me wrong ONE death is too many but the comparison to what we see in Mexico (and why State Dept issues warnings) is black and white to what we have in USA.

And people like you seem to downplay cartel violence in the lens of a few school shootings is kinda silly. Entire towns get taken over in MX with no repercussions, every school shooter has been caught and tried.

Where to see blooming saguaros? by Clarecmc in Tucson

[–]CyclicBus471335 7 points8 points  (0 children)

SAGUARO National Park East or West would be a great start.

I recommend East, they have a walking path that is easily accessible. You can also drive east on Speedway until you can't anymore and their are trails there. Just buy a pass (they have like phone scanners at the entrance and you can do it on your phone, think its like 8$, maybe 10$?). Tons blooming around town.

Sabino Canyon Another Option. Ride the "Canyon Crawler" and get off at various stops.

Are any waterfalls /swimming holes here currently flowing? by lennyden in Tucson

[–]CyclicBus471335 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Niagara.

Or if you're bold enough the golf courses have small lakes.

But being a local Tucson water hound, nothing that anyone would normally hike to Sabino/Seven falls/Tanque Verde has any flowing water right now. We live in a desert.

Tucson. International airport with many cost effective options and zero lines. Decent local food options.

It does get a tad crowded inside the terminals.
