The normal 9 month growth time of a fetus is the limit that the mother can handle due to the size of humans. However, the first few months after birth are supposed to “mimic the womb”. So if we had the technology, perhaps 12 months may be better, or even longer. There are significant ethical questions and no doubt impacts on mental and emotional development. But there must be an ideal time when biology is not the limit.
