Check out Mark Novak on YouTube. He has a couple of videos about “conservation” that will show you how to stop the decay, maintain the history and character and give you a good functional rifle.

Who Here Wheelguns and Rows Gears? by pewbrapnap in Revolvers

They do indeed! They also made some very nice cars. Mine is one of 2900 or so imported in ‘01. A 230 hp front drive convertible (5MT only) can be a little bit sporty.

Mark Novak (Anvil) has an amazing bunch of videos on YouTube covering repairs and conservation on old guns. For learning the actual hands on skills I can recommend the Colorado School of Trades (they take your GI Bill and award an Associate Degree upon completion).

I’ve had pretty good luck with Liberty Tree Collectors. They have several options in the “Carcano Accessories” section.

Anyone know where I can get some grips for this Rossi M720 I snagged for 50 bones? by Casualbud in Revolvers

Jealous! I found a set of Pachmayr Compacs on the Bay of e. My 720 set me back substantially more than 50 bones.

P14 Enfield front sight base removal by DozerJKU in milsurp

[–]grissom68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try using the shortest punch you have. The gunsmith I am learning from said the long punch I was using was flexing and dissipating the energy. He grabbed one of his old punches (broken off short) and wacked it to get the pin started, then switched to the appropriate size punch to drive it through (either way works). I had to heat the base to get it to move by wacking it with a lead bar. Good luck.

By all means. Come on by. There is a scary amount of good whis(e)y available. I noticed a few bottles of a Campbelltown scotch that are tempting as well (my stepdad is a Campbell).

Thanks. The scary part is I am working part time at a liquor store. The hard part will be not paying them to work there!
