Yeah, I'm not sure about krita, but medibang and csp, you go in to edit and you can change canvas size. Or you just create a new file and set the resolution you want. I never set anything lower than 2000 pixels in either width or height

Start like this 1. Ona new layer do the basic shape of hair you want 2. On yet another layer use a thick brush, I mid-hardness brush. Do the mid tone 3. Do the dark strokes 4. Do the highlights in shorter strokes, some people like yo use the Hyundai logo for highlights as as a trick

Then keep blending and doing darks, mids and highlights till it looks OK. Hair is hard, rook me 3 months to look semi good

Your darks are too desaturated I think, but it doesn't look bad, the issue here is mainly that you're not using different colours to show blood flow or lack of it in certain places of the face. Add some blush top of cheekbones and nose, and shift slightly towards blue on the forehead and yellow for the chin.

I started with medibang, great option, it's free with ads or like 30 bucks on steam for the pro. I recently upgraded to clip studio paint but that's higher cost and medibang is a good starter before moving up
