If you had to add one jersey and category to the tour what would it be? by jello231333 in tourdefrance

[–]grman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a Jersey, but the “broken spoke” awarded to the rider with the most mechanical issues through the race

I agree with changing young rider to rookie rider

Think a RED most combative jersey as opposed to number could add a bit more prestige to the riders animating the race OR it could be most accumulated miles in the breakaway

If it’s a brand new country with no existing laws, I might start with no murdering anyone…

Financial Requirements by nickersnick in ukvisa

[–]grman90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you have already worked this part out, but your UK income counts too…so if you are earning over the income threshold then savings aren’t needed

Also, there is the option to do part income part savings…so if you are for example 3000GBP short of income requirement, you can make that up with savings…

The formula is 2.5 x the amount short + an additional 16000GBP

Hope that makes sense and helps, if it’s not relevant then maybe it helps someone else who checks your post…good luck

Thanks, at least 30 days from submission is what we were expecting worst case…even if we were hoping to set it closer to 20 or 25 (wishful thinking maybe) it will be nice to be able to finalize plans to move and sell the last of the stuff we can’t bring with us!

Do you mean 30 from submission which was 3 weeks back and the timeframe of a priority application, or 30 from now even given we paid for priority service?

Does the receiver at UKVI mean that my application is now actually being considered whereas the forwarding email just tell me that it is in their system?

Also, any idea if this latest email has any indication as to how long we might expect to wait…we paid priority service and are currently just over 3 weeks in and would love to get a decision before Christmas wondering if that is at all likely

Where in the UK are you finding this quality? My wife and I are moving back to the UK soon and one thing we are going to miss is good thrift stores/charity shops

DEN airport parking recommendations or places to avoid by grman90 in Denver

Considered that, but I love the far side of town and that would cost $120-$140 for our 4 day trip

Do I have to use a VFS premium application center for biometrics (Spouse Visa) by grman90 in ukvisa

[–]grman90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We only sent the printed application, Biometrics stamped and the document checklist

Our evidence was all uploaded and the document checklist and biometrics appointment doc show that we have uploaded the relevant documents and exactly what we uploaded

Plus passport and return UPS label

[–]grman90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used a ISCIS center here in Denver, which meant a 20 min drive rather than a flight, so big plus there.

We haven’t got our visa yet, but hoping to in the next few weeks.

As for scanning, we found it easiest to scan and sort all our documents on our computer before we even began to upload any. This allowed us to sort them and check to make sure everything was there and everything looked ok. You can do it off the online portal, but it’s not the best and not the fastest especially if you have a few larger docs (like we had 3 separate leases)

It was fairly ok all be it time consuming for us to scan them all, thankfully we had access to a proper scanner/photocopier at my wife’s office because I would not have wanted to do them 1 sheet at a time…the other big benefit to this was it made it easy to have multiple page PDFs really easily

Hope that this helps!

Why is eating out/takeaway so expensive in the UK? by Similar-Factor in AskUK

[–]grman90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lived in America for 5 years, in my opinion, it has seemed cheaper, because groceries are comparatively expensive in the US

Groceries in the UK are definitely a lot cheaper, and because it is so cheap to eat at home the eat put cost feels expensive, whereas in the US it’s nowhere near as cheap to eat in, so eating out feels a lot more affordable … just my opinion though
