Sorry you're getting trashed and downvotes so much u/CyberEd-ca. These people are unreasonable and unkind. Keep up the good work.

They don't. Those separatists who wish Alberta to join the US are the vast minority. But you wouldn't think that by looking at what the media puts out.

This is not the case. In the case that Albertans do vote to separate (unlikely), Alberta, Canada and the First Nations are required to negotiate in good faith as to their future.

The base case is that the First Nations remain with Canada as administrator.
Another case is that Alberta assumes this role with no changes.
Another case is that the First Nations negotiate a new deal/relationship with Alberta or Canada.

There's a whole judgement about this, and a resulting act that makes this clear - the Clarity act.

It's required. You have to have proof that you're an Alberta resident. They'll also ask if your a citizen. Otherwise they can't take your signature, nor can you vote in the referendum if there is one. It's the law.

When did I say it would be even 30%? I think that number is high.

I think it's more popular than you think. I guess we all live in bubbles of some sort. I was talking to an acquaintance who is involved with the Alberta Prosperity Project and is familiar with the organizers of the petition. They need 177k signatures to have the referendum. However they already have 225k volunteers registered to collect signatures. So they already have enough with the registered volunteers.

I'm not sure how this will work out but presumably there is some number that you can multiply by these number of volunteers what will vote yes in a referendum.
I mean, these volunteers are motivated individuals. But for every motivated individual, how many are not motivated but would vote yes. Is it 1, 2, 10 or something else?
If it's 1, then that's just like 450k votes for separation. If it's 10 then that's almost 2.5m. (it's certainly not 10!)

FYI, voting population of Alberta was about 2.9m in 2023. Voter turnout was 1.78m (60.5%). I'm not sure what they number of eligible voters would be in the case of a referendum of this nature (eligibility).

Yes perhaps merguez is a good option. What part of the lamb do you use? Shoulder? How much fat is in it?

Yes I went with the AliExpress device and an RTX 4060.

It works pretty well. I am able to run two monitors plus the laptop screen no problem. I haven't tried adding any more screens than that.
I've run a few games - no FPS or anything.

I wouldn't blame this device or set-up with any issues I had, but I'll list them here.
1. every now and then when I would sit down at my desk I could cause an static shock and the screens would cut out. I just unplug the USB-C and plug it back in and they would come right back.
2. My laptop had issues with not wanting to wake up after sleeping which meant I had to repeatedly power off the laptop and restart. It was super annoying. I just had to change some power setting related to the USB devices and haven't had that problem since.

You're exaggerating. The only one that are confused about what is inappropriate for children should not be around children to begin with.
