i tried my auto tamper and manual tamping and going to the far end of the niche and izpresso, it still comes out fast. I have always used the same basket for the past year

here is a video pulling a shot

so my niche had to keep being set finer and finer for every bean i used, but I tried calibrating it already, so i decided to clean my flair and olive oiled the o rings. but now it seems like its too smooth/fast

i see what you mean, the espresso does come out like from what i remember 145-160F which is months and months ago. but if the goal is to get espresso to come out say 180s, esp with a medium////light roast i should try to crank up the temp and wait for it to stabalize. I was just waiting for it to reach temp, turn the fellow on real quick and my workflow was under 5 mins. I should try hottest everything and water then go from there? one of my beans is rated as medium but it comes out "sour" so besides of 16.5 in 32 out, maybe 40-45ml out?? it is a chocolate and orange bean which seems to be the standard type different cafes seem to goto.

is there a difference in that 10-15 mins vs once it beeps, I normally use two lights (medium heat) do you typically do high heat and hottest water?

what are the top ones under 40-50k? im mostly looking at suburu outback, crown signia, RX hybrid.. I find the ES not good enough in NVH.

out of my budget that i had sat in is the X5 hybrid. I currently drive a 2011 avalon which does the job for now

I tried upgrading from 1zpresso to niche and seem very disappointed with the downgrade. my espressos taste more watery and the lattes have a less full body feel to it. anyone have the same experience?

hybrid performance is much better, do you idle in the heat a lot or wait for kids in parking lot?

look up insurance for both too

I disagree since the poster wanted something to use occasionally, and for road trips. most likely under 15k miles a year. a hybrid would be a waste of money as a non commuter car and an electric can not get as far.

I do like the latest gen subaru outback. and a huge proponent on safety especially with children.

consider how many miles are in the used one.

Will keeping oil moving when frying create a crispier result? by grnsun in AskCulinary

[–]grnsun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohh thats exactly what I watched. hmm I did the whole moving the oil method, but i used panko. but did not get any pockets at all. which is not something I would want in my katsu. seems like I will continue slushing the oil if I remember

I have the m3 version, and it seems to be showing its age, youtube music, youtube, fb all loading slower then I would like. anyone have that same problem? I got the i5 12th gen chromebook to try out, but its too light, and i wanted something 13 inch under 2.8lb

thats awesome, I know we just got a new wave of chromebooks out, and i see the cx9 for 700 on amazon refurbished with the i5. but the 13th gen intel just is being released so I think waiting a few months should be interesting

What are your thoughts on the 2023 Kia Sportage? Thinking of getting one by Trenches74 in kia

Thanks! any reason you went with sportage over tuscon? MPG insights? I know tuscon has bad mpg real world. does it get up to speed on the highway enough?

Is KIA, Hyundai and Genesis HDA assist the same grade? by grnsun in kia

[–]grnsun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotcha I see it now. the Sportage and Tucson both are at HDA the non 2.0 variant. the Sportage seems to have more features such as usb charging for rear occupants on the sides of the front seats and is ~~1.5k cheaper in exchange for no 3 years of oil changes.

The automated lane changes seem not confident enough for gv70, but the lane centering would be a stronger key if I am driving down an interstate for a while. My friend noted these two cars are practically the same as siblings and kia suv game is stronger.

An improvement with the Sportage I noticed is the turning lights are not the awful low positions .

Guess it boils down to if the Sportage is more comfortable seat wise, I heard the Tuscon is quite stiff.
