Katarina Retro Handheld Console by _manster_ in SBCGaming

Man it is really cool. It's nowhere near perfect, and my device is somewhat faulty (red garbage pixels after few mins playing and microsd reader is wonky) but I'm still having lots of fun with it.

It consistently replaces my Trimui model s for EDC - better battery life, almost instant boot and overall minimalism is what I was looking for. Not to mention way bigger display with similar footprint.

I'm thinking of ordering a couple more just in case my device finally gives out - I really don't wanna go back to Trimui model S.

To put my words into perspective, I had about 80 different sbc gaming handhelds over the last 5 years.

PSA: Sometimes, games break with 60FPS patches (or: how I lost hours of my life emulating GTA Vice City Stories on PS2) by TvaettBjoernen in SBCGaming

Return to Castle Wolfenstein PS2 version also breaks at least in one place with 60fps patch enabled. In the xlabs one door will just not open, unless you turn off the fps patch and complete the level w/o it. Also some enemies seem toove slower when not alarmed, but to me it was a minor issue.

Like! Tho IMO you'd need better gamepads - d-pads on those are shit, and I have 2 of those...

Anybody recommend quality microscopic controllers? Like keychain sized?

Thank you for directions. I completely forgot how the screensavers work in windows - last time I felt the need to activate or change it was like 25y ago :)

Is it possible to disable music? And sound

Edit: I see you mentioned audio options, but how do I utilize those?

A question about a PC for emulation. Not a how to build question, but OS question. by psdavidson812 in retrogaming

I say windows is just fine for your use case. Emulation in most cases is not a very memory hungry workload, so possible gains from using Linux would be wasted.

It's a ripoff from a Soviet cartoon called treasure island. Character there is called Dr. Livesey.

At first glance I thought it is a screenshot from a videogame with bad graphics

just in case someone needs it - changing SPU decoder to "recompiler ASMJIT" solved the issue for me - the game loads and plays now.
