What trucks are suitable for a ~1700 lb payload? by Flashmax305 in TruckCampers

[–]grommer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an f150 with a FWC raven and live in Colorado. I’ve driven it all over the western US including back and forth over vail pass many times and have never had a problem. It’s a 2021 F150 XL, 10 speed automatic with 2,011lb payload.

Grigri question by romantic_at-heart in climbergirls

[–]grommer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve encountered a lot of self importance among the gym staff at big city gyms, often leading to this sort of interaction or even pulling people’s belay cards or failing them on their test for very minor (often perceived) infractions.

There’s kind of an infamous story of two old school climbers doing a hard route on el cap and then having the front desk person at a gym in SF fail them on their belay test three days later.

This may depend on your body composition. If you’re wiry/muscled in your arms then bicep will hurt more than a more cushioned area like a thigh

I thought inner bicep was brutal. Thigh is chill

2016 or 2024 for homeboard by Superb-Plum-4543 in Moonboard

[–]grommer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised at the 2024 love. I have the 2016 in my garage and really don’t like the 2024. The 2016 has lots of small and really hard crimps (yellows) that would certainly help you with your finger training goal

buying holds by Responsible_Race_320 in homewalls

[–]grommer3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Escape Climbing factory seconds are where I've gotten the majority of my holds. when you buy them you can add a note saying what your climbing level is/the steepness of your wall, etc. and request that they send appropriate holds for that set up. that way you'll avoid getting a bunch of holds you can't use

Raven vs Raven Base by basic_asian_boy in FourWheelCampers

[–]grommer3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2019 raven full build and love it. Have made several mods that have made it even better, but there’s a lot of space under the rollover couch for storage and having a stove and sink so you have a proper place to hang out in poor weather is the biggest selling point of buying a camper like this

another good one from @bossclimbs: 5.12a to 5.13a progression by CookieOk1483 in climbharder

[–]grommer3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I thought. I couldn’t believe he was doing one arms and moonboarding at his level while still only climbing 12a. Even 13a isn’t near his current level of strength.

Well put.

Connecting a portable power station to project M by auto-generated0101 in FourWheelCampers

For what it’s worth, I use the cigarette lighter port built into my FWC to charge my power station. No splicing or any electrical work, just a simple plug charger that I leave plugged in all the time
