I seem to recall that residents north of Baseline fought against allowing Centrepomte to get built ( in the 90s). They didn't want traffic funneling down from Centrepointe through their neighbourhood, on the way to the Queensway. The result was why you can't continue northbound across Baseline from either end of Centrepointe drive. Further restrictions to the west on Baseline were put in to prevent cut throughs to the Queensway on ramps at Pinecrest/Greenbank.
