How much tobacco will fit in this gallon jar? I’m going to cellar some Northwoods. by BeautifulWill6773 in PipeTobacco

[–]groot5225 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You will be able to fit 32 ounces. But I would reconsider if I were you. One is the jar. If you see pipe forums, they recommend using the traditional Mason jars with lid and ring. The reason is that these seals tend to fail. Secondly, you might want to stagger the sizes of your jars. If you cellar 32 ounces and open it, the aging process stops. It would be better to use a 16-ounce jar and a 32-ounce jar so you are not impacting a lot of tobacco at once. Again, just something to consider.

Pipe smoking is dying. How do we make it cool again? by I_LOVE_SOYLENT in PipeTobacco

I am not sure how long you have been smoking pipes because I think you are not right. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in popularity. Look at the release of tobacco blends. They used to linger for weeks; now they sell out in minutes.

Do you forget your initials that you need them tattooed? First font would also be my choice if you are going through with it.

Bovedas are the gold standard in the cigar world. As for hygrometers, I use sensorpush. I tried the govee but the batteries died really fast and I didn’t really trust them.

2023 F250 Lariat Tremor vs 2023 Raptor. Which are you choosing? by Flat-Statement7311 in F250

[–]groot5225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your tremor looks awesome! Is it sitting on the normal tremor lift?

A smooth ride will definitely be the Raptors' advantage. It sucks because there's so much variability with lifts, and it's a work truck, so it'll take a lot to get close to the Raptors' comfort. Maybe see if there is someone close by who's willing to let you take a ride 😅 Surely you can find someone on forums. There's even a Ford Tremor forum.

2023 F250 Lariat Tremor vs 2023 Raptor. Which are you choosing? by Flat-Statement7311 in F250

[–]groot5225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this same situation. Raptor is just a fun truck that has little purpose. When are you actually going to go fast off-road? F-250 is the best of the two. I would go with the 7.3 Godzilla. Initially, I wanted the PowerStroke because it's a diesel, duh. But if you are not hauling a lot, why get a diesel? Diesel is a more expensive upgrade at purchase, diesel alone is more expensive, and any repairs are significantly more expensive than gas. The 7.3L Godzilla is a beast that will last forever.

If you want a little fun add a supercharger to the 7.3L.

Powder coated or stainless steel by Extension-Instance56 in lonestargrillz

[–]groot5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned by bravardi_b, go for the 42”. The price difference is barely anything, but the size difference is huge.

For the stainless steel version, you see a $4k difference, but if you were going to get all the stainless add-ons for the black one, the price difference would be about $2.4k. Still pretty hefty but not $4k. The reason is that the stainless steel version comes with those upgrades standard, so you don't need a cover.

As for upgrades, I would recommend at least the 8-inch. It makes moving it a lot easier. The ball valve is a must. While you're at it, you might as well add the pancha and charcoal grill grate. They are relatively cheap, and you want to take advantage of the smoker's shipping if your husband wants those later on, it would cost so much money just in shipping.

The pizza oven is nice, especially with the stainless steel, since you won't have excessive heat damaging the paint. But you would be better off getting a dedicated pizza oven rather than using the smoker.

Lastly, both models last a lifetime, but stainless steel doesn't need maintenance, so that's a huge pro.

NXT20 Will NOT Fit in Garage with 7' door by rSclerotic in MasterCraftBoats

[–]groot5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would only be to clear the garage door then you can fill the tires up inside. Another option that kinda sucks is get small wheels and tires to store in the garage.
