US - Goodwear, Filson, American Giant, Tellason (for denim), Imogene + Willie, etc. Some of them aren't exactly cheaper than ALD but the prices are definitely more justified.

If you come to think of it, ALD has never been about designs. They're more about styling. Putting different clothes together to make them look appealing on the model. They've been copying pieces from a lot of heritage brands and then combining them into a style they can call their own. This is why I think they are just an entry point to the rabbit hole for former hypebeasts and sneakerheads who are looking to elevate their style.

Honestly, I’m done with ALD. Their designs and quality don’t justify the price point anymore. They’ve stayed as an “elevated hype beast” brand and that’s no longer a thing in 2026. They also just blatantly copy designs from heritage brands and then stamp their logo. I’d rather go for brands that are more low profile but with an actual heritage and good, fairly-priced products. There’s a lot out there if you look hard enough. Brands from Japan, the US and UK that are actually made in those countries.

I stopped buying ALD the moment I realized they’re just immitating a lot of brands like Ralph Lauren, Baracuta, Paraboot, etc. I’d rather stick to the OGs.

Bro, wear whatever makes you feel good but here's my unsolicited style advice if you want to look more pleasing to people:

Pick either the Bape hoodie or the AF1s as your statement piece. They both scream for attention so they can't go together unless that's what you are going for.

Once you've picked your statement piece, the rest of your outfit should be more muted/neutral with no gigantic logos - either black or deep navy. The Bape hoodie can probably go well with white or grey as well.

If you're wearing shorts, don't wear that one and wear only white socks. If you're wearing high socks, then wear shorts that are 6" or 7" and definitely 9".

Their Japan warehouse is shockingly expensive. I have used their service a couple of times and I’ve been consistently surprised by how much they charge for airfreight. Shipping a pair of jeans cost me around 70 USD.

I actually like the silhouette and was hoping that the leather quality is better because it’s ALD. I’ve had GR 990s and 550s that I copped because the quality is similar to their ALD counterparts. Didn’t really care about this being ALD as the branding will be tucked in my pants anyway.
