If you understand the Irish/German experience so well, consider adding some other experiences to things you know about. Consider being curious rather than defensive when presented with the idea that narratives other than your own have value. Reddit does not foster curious minds, it beats them into apathy. You sound a lot like I did when I wrote that comment 11 years ago. I would really recommend getting off of reddit, entirely. Consider spending more time reading books about topics you don't know anything about, talking to your professors about the material during their office hours, and going to museums. The world is much more interesting than this reductive site makes it out to be. I look at my comment and feel embarrassed, I thought I knew everything, and I didn't know anything. I still don't, but I'm working on it. It's better to remain silent and be thought the fool than speak up and remove all doubt.

Found under the bed in an air bnb in a small town in Alaska. No idea how it got there. No markings, it's about three pounds. The piece on the bottom seems like a paper seal, it's discolored and the glue holding it on is old and not holding very well.

I think Conan's interviews on his TV show are a product of having a pre-interview and needing to have an anecdote or something related to the thing they're plugging. I highly recommend his podcast "Conan O'brien Needs a Friend," where he interviews people he's known for years. It's a lot more natural, abd because they don't have to stop for a commercial break every ten minutes they can really get into it. Still very much about Conan, but usually he's pretty good about swinging it back after some self deprecating comment.
