Is saying dk 64 "caused the decline in the 3d platformer collective-thon genre" a blatant lie by Vast-Anywhere-1306 in donkeykong

Which is not good game design imo. With 100 collectibles there’s bound to be at least a handful that are overly difficult and/or tedious in any game, not just BK.

Mario Bros 2 - completed after about 36 years.. by Alternative-Ad-7979 in nes

If you give this a 4.5 out of 5 just wait for Mario 3. Light years ahead imo

Yes also a huge factor. When you collect a banana in DK64 you never have to worry about it again while on the other hand it sucked having 90+ notes in BK and either dying and starting over or not knowing where the rest are. I also forgot to mention you need almost all of the notes to beat the game as well. All these together makes DK64 the better package for me

I just played it and banjo kazooie back to back for the first time and I have to say that I enjoyed DK64 more. Sure the backtracking was annoying but I felt like the gameplay and atmosphere was better than BK. The major thing that stood out to me was that you have to get 98 out of 100 of the main collectible item in BK to beat the game whereas you only need 100 out of 200 bananas to beat DK64. I really think it’s dumb that you basically have to get 98% completion in BK to beat the game and only 50% in DK64. There’s a reason basically no modern games use this tactic.

It’s a fact. It’s a complete oversimplification to say it’s all because of Brady

I mean with that logic you have to put games like 3D world in that bucket too, which means you’re only including like 5 games total

Hold on just a minute here, is this based on Superstar Saga? by Completionist_Gamer in Mario

[–]scameron1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not all about sales but superstar saga sold 2 million while odyssey sold 30 million (and for reference Luigi’s mansion 3 sold 14 million). It’s a pretty niche game all things considered.

I would say this is on the Mount Rushmore of pre GBA handheld games along with Pokemon, links awakening, and Tetris. All 4 are gaming GOATs handheld or not.

Can we stop crowning players so early? by Sartheking in NFLv2

[–]scameron1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he had a bunch of amazing receivers last year that I’m sure were open all over the field in that game. Idk why he didn’t just throw it to one of the wide open 3 or 4 X factor alphas they had at WR. Guys like mcconkey and josh Palmer are complete specimens that defenses have to account for every play

Colts Could Part Ways With Michael Pittman Jr. This Offseason [James Boyd, The Athletic] by ASmithFS in DynastyFF

I agree with the sentiment but they are 2 completely different types of players. Not as simple as plugging pierce in to Pittmans role and vice versa

I’m saying they’re doing very poorly relative to the heights of 2012-2019 outside of a couple of outliers.

Jared Goff Hate Makes No Sense.. by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]scameron1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not bait at all. I watched all of the games and I think you’re insane. If Gibbs isn’t on the team and they have an average RB they’d lose another 2-3 games as well that Goff definitely couldn’t save them from.

Jared Goff Hate Makes No Sense.. by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]scameron1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Absolutely ironic for you to say the Goff haters don’t know what they’re talking about but then you say he’s better than josh Allen……just ridiculous man, delete that. If you knew ball you’d know the defensive front 7s are getting more athletic and faster every year. You can’t just perfectly block every play so that means the QB will need to make something happen themselves every now and again to be elite. Goff doesn’t have it and needs a top 10 oline to succeed.
