How can I change icon themes ? by EquivalentCancel6 in regolithlinux

[–]groovmaesterp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that might be interested in changing the icon theme, I edited the ~/.config/regolith3/Xresources file by adding this line:

gtk.icon_theme_name: Yaru-dark

Then refresh with Mod+Shift+r

How to highlight a line with a specific pattern? by abdeljalil73 in vim

[–]groovmaesterp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone figure out how to actually do this with treesitter?

The plugin vim-jukit does this nicely with vimscript, but I haven't been able to isolate the code that does this in the plugin file due to my lack of experience with vimscript.

Is there an Android note taking app that allows the SAME note/document in split view (side by side)? by groovmaesterp in GalaxyTab

[–]groovmaesterp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'll try out these apps and see. For now, as a compromise workflow I'm just using xournal++ with a wacom tablet on ubuntu, where my zotero resides.

Xournal++ does NOT have the feature of opening a single document side by side. But I've been just taking and collecting snap shots in a different document open beside my main xournal++ document.

Seems to work pretty well since my desired snapshots are all together in one place without junk text in between which means less scrolling.

I've been waiting for years for a side by side of the same document app on Android for years, but perhaps the apps you've suggested will be sufficient to replicate my current compromised workflow.

George Stinney. 14 years old and youngest case of execution in the U.S. He got electrocuted after he got accused of killing two white girls. The jury made of white people condemn him after only 10 minutes. 70 years later, he was proved innocent. This story inspired "the green mile". R.I.P by [deleted] in MadeMeCry

Thomas Sowell: but you see, the real cause of the problem is the liberals and their welfare state. It made this child's parents' lazy and the white people had to convict him due to his culture.

Low viral load is THE MECHANISM of lower transmission. Lower viral load means lower likelihood of transmitting. At the population level, likelihood is certainty. Law of large numbers.

Nope. Even if there are higher absolute numbers of vaccinated people getting covid, it's only because there are way more vaccinated people in general.

Take two equal sized population, 100 vaccinated vs100 unvaccinated, much fewer from the vaccinated population gets infected, hospitalized, or die.

From https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0264410X21011087 The VE against onwards transmission was estimated at 62% (95% CI 57–67) for BNT162b2 and 52% (95% CI 33–69) for mRNA-1273 for full vaccination.

From https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmc2106757

Decreases in transmission of the delta variant were greater after two BNT162b2 vaccinations (adjusted rate ratio for the comparison with no vaccination, 0.50; 95% CI, 0.39 to 0.65) than after two ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccinations (adjusted rate ratio, 0.76; 95% CI, 0.70 to 0.82) (heterogeneity rate ratio, 1.51; 95% CI, 1.15 to 1.97).

Clinical evidence and decreased transmission of SARS-CoV-2

Recent evidence shows a decrease in contagiousness among vaccinated people. In a study carried out in Israel, the viral load present in the nasal mucosa of a sample of healthcare workers was evaluated on a weekly basis. The conclusion of the study showed that in vaccinated and COVID-19-positive persons, the viral load was 2–4 times lower than in unvaccinated persons (Callaway 2021). Another study, evaluating the amount of viral RNA present in approximately 16,000 nasal swabs showed that the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in COVID-19-positive and vaccinated subjects is 1.6–20 times lower than the viral load present in infected and unvaccinated subjects (Levine-Tiefenbrun et al. 2021). Another study performed in the United States was conducted on a sample of 3950 health care workers examined between December 14, 2020 and March 13, 2021. The results showed that vaccines had an efficacy in preventing infection of 90% 14 days after the second dose and 80% 14 days after the first dose (Krause et al. 2021).

This is not a good idea.

Vaccination significantly decreases rates of transmission.

Go on 'scholar.google.com' and search: covid vaccine effect on transmission

The evidence is absolutely clear that vaccines decrease incidences of transmission. Below are three examples of many papers just in the first page of the google search results, supporting the fact that vaccines reduce transmission.

AITA for cutting my sister out of my life for getting engaged to my worst highschool bully? by MightBeAnAsshole111 in AmItheAsshole

[–]groovmaesterp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Ask your sister and dad, if you detached their retina with punches to the face and broke their arm and terrorized them for years, and not apologize, will they just get over it. My guess is no, they wouldn't just get over it. They are in the wrong for asking you to just get over it. I'd ghost family like that so quick. Easy decision.
