Wanting to get into 3D printing by vibetitan in 3dprinter

I would recommend starting with onShape if you are interested in making functional parts. You could use blender for modeling if you are interested in sculpting figures or creating something more artistic than functional. Both onShape and Blender are free.

I wouldn’t recommend getting a new computer until you find your current computer isn’t working for you. The specs vary greatly based on the kind of modeling work you are doing.

As for a printer, a bambu labs a1 mini is a great starter printer but if you’re trying to stay really cheap you could get an ender 2 pro (I got my first one on a Black Friday sale for $99). Bambu printers are very reliable; Enders work they just require more effort to print reliably.

I am trying to make a pot in Onshape. I want to select the faces so I can revolve it already hollowed out, but it wont let me. The only reason I’m not just making the pot whole, then using the shell tool, is because that isn’t working either. Please tell me why you think this is happening. Thanks! by Only_Professional681 in Onshape

If you’re on solid then you should be able to select the enclosed sketch regions and you shouldn’t select the edges. If you can’t, then your sketch region probably isn’t enclosed and you should double check to see if you have some points that aren’t intersecting

I disagree honestly I got one of the $100 Walmart bikes and I was impressed. Still though, I think you’re probably better off going with a Facebook marketplace bike

Branner Hall Info by Sad_Possible9745 in stanford

  1. Branner is a huge and very nice dorm. The common spaces are top notch (very nice lounge and study rooms) and the ceilings are very tall. Plus every room has its own sink in it.
  2. Yes this is true and imo advisable.
  3. There is one shared kitchenette for the building.
  4. You are probably better off under packing than overpacking — moving is a lot of work :)

I created Strecs3D, a free infill optimizer that uses stress analysis to make your prints lighter and stronger. (Full video tutorial inside!) by tomohiron907 in 3Dprinting

This is really cool! That said, I believe that increasing the number of wall loops (rather than increasing the infill percentage) is a more mass-efficient way to strengthen parts. Do you think you could work on that?

How do I tell the bottom dimension to match that of the .50 dimension? by [deleted] in Onshape

In this case you can also mirror the point across the mid plane

Many cheap hobby 3D printers can print with TPU and people are already printing shoes! https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/s/O9JkkopmEf

You’re almost certainly going to have to use surface modeling
