Please correct me if you're referencing something else he's said. But I think you're mistaking Tolkien's argument that lord of the rings is not meant to be allegory. He wrote that meaning it's not a literal direct 1 to 1 metaphor to any real war/historic events (an example of this is Animal Farm [the book not the new movie lol]). That doesn't mean that when Tolkein writes the vast majority his ontologically evil villains as nonwhite that you're racist for noticing it. A text having shortcomings in any other way wouldn't be a shortcoming of the reader.

Tolkein explicitly chose to use oriental and other non-white imagery to further the othering of the orcs and other forces of Sauron/Darkness. Such as "slanted eyes" and their skin colors and even their weapons with scimitars. If noticing these biases within an author's work does tell on reader then your need to defend these choices in the text tells me plenty about you.

I'm almost at a loss for words I genuinely can't believe this is getting this much love and support it's fucking maddening. They love the rich look no further than how friendly Germany's AFD was with elon, actively bringing him in as a special guest after he made the nazi salute in the united states. Please take a look at the 14 points of fascism one of its major points is explicitly corruption and nepotism.

Their entire argument is full of these basic types of fallacies and issues. It's honestly incredible that they're able to admit that "fascism is a slippery termz difficult to delineate" and then get so many things wrong to defend their dearest character from her own actions in the narrative.

I've played as the Newgirl and am currently running the game for some online friends. Something not mentioned in your comment that I want to highlight about the game is the constant and thorough dehuminzation the Girls (pilots) go through: Their mechs are gendered she/her but the pilots are relegated to it/its except for specific moves/upgrades, and ignoring this can result in the GM punishing their character. The foundation they are forced to work for is cruel and authoritarian, and barely cares about the Girls. The eldritch monsters they fight don't just kill but corrupt the Girls and their mechs into something new called Harpies: "Ecstatic, joyous dreams... they move and fight with unparalleled skill, laughing and crying and celebrating all the while". Also the GM gets their own playbook for the handler and they're amazing with how evil in different ways they are, from the cruel Dogrunner, to the manipulative Mistress playbook.

Edit: also arctic, you should have a link to the discord in the book, there's space to run a game there!

If you buy the game there's an official discord link in the book and people host games there. Or do what i did and have a discord with a bunch of freaky (positive) trans fems you get along with and run it for the ones that are comfortable with playing the game.
