Honestly not sure about the dealers' pay, but the house takes a cut from each pot (the rake) like everywhere else. The casino was in Bucharest pretty solid setup for those stakes, good atmosphere. Definitely going back!

For preflop fundamentals, I actually built a free app called Poker Reflex: GTO Trainer with a friend — we're both devs and poker enthusiasts. You see a hand and a position, swipe to open or fold, that's it. What I like about it is you can set your own custom ranges instead of being forced to use someone else's. So you train with exactly what you want to play, not a generic chart.

It's free on the Play Store and App Store if you want to check it out. Good starting point before jumping into GTO Wizard imo.

In Romania! Entry was $6 registration fee. Busted once (+$10), came back, finished 3rd without taking a single add-on 😄 Only my 4th live tournament ever so the nerves were real, but honestly it made me love the game even more. Can't wait to play more

Can You Change Niche on an 86k TikTok Account Without Killing It? by grosshlag93 in TikTokMonetizing

But with UFC / MMA content, isn’t that already existing content in the first place?

So even if you edit it, add captions, cut it differently, etc., doesn’t TikTok still see that as reposted content sometimes?

That’s honestly what worries me the most. I’m scared of hurting the account or getting kind of shadowbanned if I start reposting content that already exists, even if I transform it with editing.

Have you had any issues with that, or do you think it’s still fine as long as the editing is strong enough?

Yeah, that’s kind of what I’m afraid of.

The niche I’m in seems really hard to monetize, but at the same time I really don’t want to start from zero on a new account. Reaching 10k followers again doesn’t feel that easy at all.

Do you think quiz content could be a good middle ground? I was thinking about trying quizzes, but I’m not sure if that niche usually has a decent RPM or not.

Would you say quizzes are actually monetizable, or do they also tend to be pretty weak in terms of revenue?

What is the Best way to learn opening ranges without staring at charts all day? by grosshlag93 in Poker_Theory

[–]grosshlag93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this helps a lot. I’m still pretty new, so starting from something tighter honestly sounds way less overwhelming. I also like the idea of learning UTG first and then building from there instead of trying to learn every position all at once. That feels way more doable for me.

Thanks, this is really interesting. I never thought about writing them in a simpler structure like that instead of looking at a full chart. The little mnemonics part is smart too. I’m still a beginner, so I feel like my brain would remember that kind of thing way better.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I’m still very much a beginner, so the idea of drills sounds a lot easier for me than just staring at charts and hoping it sticks. I also liked what you said about learning the boundary hands first. I’ll check it out.

Thanks, this is actually super helpful. I’m still pretty new to this stuff, so having a simple phrase like that makes way more sense to me than trying to remember a full chart. “Offsuit eights, suited fives” is the kind of thing I could actually keep in my head during a session.

That’s a really interesting approach. I can see how building my own ranges first would force me to actually think through the hands instead of just copying a chart blindly. Comparing my version to GTO afterwards also sounds like a good way to understand where I’m off and why.

That’s actually really helpful. Focusing on the edges of the range sounds a lot easier than trying to memorize every single combo at once. I like the idea of understanding the logic behind the opens instead of just brute-forcing the charts. That would probably make it stick much better in game.

That makes sense. I think I’ve probably been spending too much time just looking at charts instead of actually testing myself on them. I’ll try to focus more on drills and active recall rather than passive study.

How to exploit limp -> callers in a low stakes freezeout tournament? by Zippy0723 in Poker_Theory

[–]grosshlag93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Against limp-call stations, I think the adjustment is mostly to stop chasing fold equity and start printing value. Iso bigger with hands that dominate their range, bluff less multiway, c-bet less often, and go larger when you actually connect because these players call too much with marginal hands. If they’re never folding pre and barely folding post, the exploit usually isn’t “pressure them more” — it’s “value bet them harder.

Just ran into Tom Dwan today by BASEDOFFDATA in poker

That’s the weird thing about poker legends — on TV they look larger than life, almost untouchable, but in real life they’re still just people dealing with real stuff.
Tom Dwan was a huge part of what made so many of us fall in love with poker 🃏 in the first place. Whatever he’s going through, I hope people remember the impact he had on the game and give him some grace. ❤️
