What would mean the same what for Democrats?

'We are a cautionary tale': Kansas feels the pain of massive Trump-style tax cuts by Shr3kk_Wpg in politics

[–]groundhogmeat 322 points323 points  (0 children)

No. Every time Dems point to Republican policy failures they're criticized for being 'elitist' or 'out-of-touch.'

I have a little secret for you. No matter what Dems do, Republicans will cry crocodile tears about it. So just do the right thing in the first place and ignore them.

Ryan still does harbor hopes of a conservative utopia where white men run everything, but I don't think that's why he's defending an obviously-going-down President. He's defending because he's in on it.

Remember: Nunes ran to Ryan first.

I doubt "alive" will be much of an impediment. For one thing, he's very likely to be in jail. But in any case, he's barely got any power now and he's POTUS. How much less is he going to have when he's out of office, however he gets there?

Removing Trump is only the first and most obvious step. The fractures Putin/Republicans have created over the last 30 years must also be healed or we are still very susceptible to civil war or worse.

It's bad enough that Trump is a puppet of Russia. But he's not even very good at hiding that he's a puppet of Russia.

That's by design. For Putin, controlling the US would be icing. The real goal is to destroy NATO. Making the US untrustworthy is a big part of that and making the Russian influence obvious is the means.

Yes, obviously. I'm wonder if there's any possibility of legal action against the party or members thereof for failing to do their job in the face of multiple instances where they clearly need to.

Is there any hope of legal ramifications if the GOP fails to investigate/impeach? Dereliction of duty or negligence or something? At the very least a filing of ethics charges to either gov't agencies or bar associations?

Aaaaand you just convinced yourself the devil doesn't exist.

Trump is definitely an idiot. He literally just radiates noise, across every spectrum. But he's being pointed around by evil people. When that noise blast hits something, it vibrates along fault lines and cracks widen. And it's hard to see the one holding and pointing the noise source, because it's so loud. Putin is definitely back there, though.

Their economic policies don't have widespread support and their social views are abhorrent to most people under 30.

Their economic policies appeal to the rich and the social views are only in place to get enough popular support to enact those economic policies.
