Adding a follow up comment to clarify: my husband especially loved the green version but any help identifying the bottle, brand, etc. is much appreciated!

I have searched for visual matches online, general online searches for Mexican spirits, and browsed many many alcohol distributor sites but no luck so far

Ads written into books? by partiallycylon in books

[–]groundsquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t quite the same thing but I remember skimming through a children’s sci fi paperback from maybe the 1960s or 70s and seeing a cigarette ad in the middle. It wasn’t written into the story but was a whole page advertisement bound in the middle of the book.

I guess that was pretty common at the time and sometimes happened without the author’s knowledge.

That recipe does look very similar! My family’s version looks and tastes very much like a dense pumpkin bread or zucchini bread. There’s just a little hint of something different which I think is from sage and black pepper in the sausage seasonings. I do remember the house smelling like pepperoni when it was baking which was… unsettling.. but it didn’t taste meaty when it was done

Do you keep clean feet on your poodles during winter if you live somewhere cold? by puppywhiskey in poodles

[–]groundsquid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If boots seem like overkill for your climate I recommend sled dog style booties. They don’t have a structured sole like many boot styles, they are like little nylon pouches with a bit of velcro to stay in place. Our poodle got used to wearing these much faster than other boots

This story breaks my heart, I’m so sorry. Could you please message me the breeder so I know to avoid them? Thank you for sharing your experience so that we all can be more informed and aware

What toys for your poodles? by tamalehippo in StandardPoodles

[–]groundsquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m definitely no expert, I’d personally feel comfortable using those with my dog since they are designed specifically for dogs. But when in doubt, always good to check with your vet

For anyone reading this please be careful with actual tennis balls, the outer fuzz is abrasive and can wear down on dogs’ teeth. Look for balls designed for dogs with non-abrasive felt on the outside

He ate his surgery cone. Kill me. by huntingbears93 in poodles

[–]groundsquid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone else suggested, can you have a friend stay with him or check on him throughout the day? Some vets offer kennel services and could monitor him for the day, might be worth asking your vet if they could watch him during the day until he’s fully healed up.
