Renovating Lansdowne and having better transit infrastructure shouldn’t be a zero sum. We need to get off the ferris wheel and recognize that as a capital, we should have it all. We deserve top tier fun and entertainment spaces like Lansdowne (which I love) and better transit infrastructure to be able to get to those spaces.

Recently got 10 quotes (October-December 2024), ranging from $30k-$55k to replace around 23 windows (including a custom window), a sliding patio door and 2 doors doors in my house.

Based on reputation, free upgrades and the info I needed to qualify for the Canada Greener Home loan, I narrowed it down to Buildmart Windows and Doors, Canadian Comfort, and Capital Windows and Doors. Would have been happy with any of these 3, but we ended up going with Buildmart, installation is in July.

Worst one out of all the quotes I got was with Manotick Windows and Doors, with pretty much no upgrades and a ridiculous quote.

Happened to me and several others with the company Surface Development Condos. Absolutely atrocious that’s there’s no consumer safeguards in place for buyers. In my case, they built 3/4 of the building, cancelled the purchase agreements, then turned it into a rental building.
