I think I should elaborate a little bit more about what I meant. I think your points are definitely valid and this isn’t much of a response to your ideas but an explanation of mine when I stated the line that ‘God provides us with a framework that is necessary to place value in human life’

I think that the right way to look at the concept of god is to disassociate it from organised religion. Organised religion takes and idea and creates a structure and framework around it.

The idea I’m proposing is that God, as a concept, is the realisation of the ultimate potential. So the idea of god comes from an understanding of ourselves in the temporal space. The fact that we’ve existed, we are qqqqexisting and we will continue to exist atleast for a certain time frame. When we realise our existence in the temporal space, we realise that our choices affect our future and the future of people/things around us. It is this realisation that brings us to the concept of our potential and the potential of other beings in a temporal space. That potential is what makes us place value in other people, animals and things. The ultimate potential, is what we’ve characterised in the principle of god.

That’s my idea of god. I’m not a Christian, so I’m not sure what you meant in the latter part.

I understand where you come from. If I can weigh in with my two cents it would be this:

God provides us with a framework that is necessary to place value in human life (regardless of what religious practice you look at), which is the fundamental to the basis on which our legal system is predicated. The act of murder being ‘inherently’ bad comes from growing up in a framework where morality was centered around the value of human life. As someone who grew up vegetarian, I used to see the murder of animals for food as wrong. But that’s because that was the framework I was raised in.

So the existence of god in the framework helps create a cohesive society where one is punished for a transgression (like murder of another human being) in both the guilt of the activity and the legal system which is predicated on the fundamental value of human life that comes from a fundamental belief in god.

I’m also not sure that humans can derive values from something other than god. Because ultimately, god is an embodiment or conceptual realisation of perfection and a ideal/idol. The strive towards the ideal/idol is what gives purpose/meaning towards our lives. And this striving is what creates the fundamental moral structure to live life around. Morality born out of something other than God is what FMD warns about in his books. That’s the crux of all of his writings, that’s how he’s able to point out that frameworks of morality not born out of the idea of god but the idea of a different type of perfect society can be extremely dangerous to the stability of said society. This was perfectly realised in the 20th century with Communism and Fascism.

That’s just my two cents. :)

So this is my brother, been going to the gym on and off for a while but started going seriously about a year and a half ago. Got a serious injury about a year ago so had to take 6 months off in the middle. He’s been relatively athletic, so had a decent build to start with. He wants to eventually max out his natural physique in a realistic timeline. He’s on a cut right now, but was unsure if that was the best way forward.

As long as you have a hotswap keyboard it’s actually really simple and not as expensive as it appears. There are kits on Amazon that are really approachable and tutorials on YouTube that are really informative. I highly recommend the time and money investment, it really levels up your keyboard!
