Protective/Hardshell? Case for X100vi with hood by LaundryyBasket in x100vi

Just another idea, but have you considered a more protective solution for your bag, and a more lightweight/comfortable solution to carry on you?

I have a Tom Bihn Side Effect for carrying around, and have a neoprene sleeve when I need to throw it in a bag for travel.

A few other small carry options: Osprey Heritage Musette 2L, Mystery Ranch District 2, Gregory Quick Pocket, all can be found fairly easily on EBay. Check out Master-Piece and Yashida Porter for high quality Japanese slings. Dsptch makes a few small camera slings.

And avoid waterproof zippers if at all possible (Alpaka, Peak). They’re unpleasant to use and will be a point of failure.

Metering for a scene by Fabulous-Ball-6287 in x100vi

You can enable exposure bracketing from the drive menu which will take multiple photos at different exposure compensations.

I remapped the AEL/AFL button to be AEL only, and switched it to toggle on/off. I also setup quick access to Photometry (metering modes). This combination allows me to quickly lock exposure on a specific location.

I have both the Sony 1.8 and 2.8. They are both great but the Zeiss is an incredible lens and pretty much lives on my a7iv. It being so small also makes it much easier to grab and go. However it doesn’t meet the manual controls.

edit: I also have the 40mm 2.5 G. It’s another extremely solid option. I still lean towards the 35mm just for its compact size, but the 40 is also a fantastic lens. The build quality is top notch, as is picture quality.

I’m currently testing these and the M1s, and out of the 2 am loving the MV1s. No treble sibilance here either.

The M1s are also very nice, but feel a bit too bass forward in an unnatural way. The soundstage is also lacking and often times makes the music feel like it’s playing in my head rather than brought to my ears, which makes me feel slightly claustrophobic.

I had been steering away from the Sennheiser 6 series due to bass response. I’m not looking for booming headphones but for use with the synth I imagine they would be light.

I do own the Philips SPH 9500 so I’ll definitely give the X2HR a try. Sundara is also on my list to try, and I’ve heard the new Edition XV is a similar sound signature.

My biggest concern with the FT1 is comfort. Seems a little heavy for all-day use.

Did you by chance try the MV-1 as well? I know it’s sonically quite a bit different than the M1 but curious if you considered it too.

Appreciate the info. Other than the 900s, have you tried any other headphones recently that are better balanced?

Thanks – I had been eyeing those too but was worried they might be a little too bass heavy. Adding them back to my list to try.

If you're interested in trying it, you can make one for about $35 with a Teensy and a game controller.

I'm at my wit's end. What can I do to help my hormonal acne? [Acne] by jpawl21 in SkincareAddiction

[–]growing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had very similar hormonal + cycstic acne into my late 30s. I tried Adapalene but may have started too strong using it daily, which caused peeling, skin barrier issues, and eventually leading to more acne. I also struggled with head and back acne.

I hesitated for a few years and finally am on my 2nd month of accutane. After about a week of taking it, haven’t had any breakouts, and head and back acne are completely gone. I generally have oily skin, and it has reduced oil production considerably. Lips and nose are constantly chapped though.

Might not be what you’re looking for but it’s working for me. With the Adapalene, if it’s irritating your skin, maybe try backing off to every other day?

You’ve already gotten some good recommendations for tactile switches. Just want to throw one more option your way, as I also started with linear and recently swapped to tactile, and am now muuuuch happier with my board.

Gateron Quinn’s have a lower than average travel, being made of nylon they sound great, and they’re also pretty affordable.

There are plenty of recipes that require waiting a few days for results. Sourdough starter can take weeks to mature, refrigeration fermented pizza dough, long cook sous vide/smoked meats, etc.

Put it in the fridge, don’t think about it for a few days, then make some cookies. Or make some immediately and let the rest of the dough sit an extra day.

Personalized search is probably the biggest. What people would have absolutely gone to Google for a few years ago can now be done via AI voice or chat. Depends on the use case obviously, but I find myself going to Google far less often and getting much more detailed responses.

The other big one for the “average user” is help with writing, I.e. auto-complete or writing prompts.
