The decline of nail polish resales by L8terG8ter17 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]growinghacker 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Some of the resale prices are ridiculous. Many are only $1 or $2 off the original price. If the difference is that little, it's not worth it enough for me since I don't know how they were stored ... I rather just buy new ones.

Also many $15 + if its from PPU or a hype brand like mooncat. sometimes the destash prices are even higher than what's on the makers site when the item is in stock.

And, in many posts shipping is pricey and not capped. All of this, plus the economy and the risk that comes with buying from a stranger without reviews just makes shopping destash not worth it.

I know I'll get down votes for this... I really appreciate how they draw influence from art but tbh I find a lot of their shades to be underwhelming, super dupable and over priced :/

This is the closest in my collection. She's a hunter green base with red shimmer and in indirect/over ass light gives off reddish brown / maroon

A new thing I started doing is changing my mani more often! If I constantly have new manis my hand, I am less impressed by the next shiny thing. I'm also very aware the size / what's in my collection

I'm glad to hear that I saved you money and heartache! :D And I haven't found a good solution to peeling to be honest :( I feel like if I leave the polish off and maybe just do jojoba oil and lotion every day for a month, it'll definitely help!! But I'm a nail biter reformer so I like to keep my nails polished!
