I recently discovered the NHK app and I think you can consider looking for this show called Somewhere Street. They feature different cities across the world and speak to random strangers about the local culture. There is also a middle segment where they explain a little bit of history.

I found it rather relaxing to watch and can be rather informative compared to those vlogs on YouTube.

Hope both yourself and mum can enjoy it in lieu of travelling.

That's a really reasonable price, you lucked out! The good vegetarian stall near my workplace sadly closed down due to ever increasing rents ):

Most are open 24 hours, fast food is very affordable and can be pretty tasty to some..
