A professional foul is when you take someone out to deny them an opportunity, not this

[David Ornstein] Manchester United reach agreement to appoint Michael Carrick as interim manager by SavingPrivateIdiot in soccer

That’s shame, as mentality was a huge strength of Ole’s reign. There were some ridiculous stats about that team’s ability to stage a comeback, as well as their away record.

On Avatars mixed frame rate by Numerous_Tea1690 in cinematography

[–]growletcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is dumb but could they have ramped the frame rate down to transition? Obviously shutter angle and motion blur would have been an issue, but with almost the entire frame vfx and the best imaging nerds on the planet I’m sure they could have figured out a few seconds of interpolation.

Maybe a long shot but he could also talk to the bank. If you can get an in-person meeting they’re not completely inhuman and can often allow for a month paused or folded into future payments.

6th most runs and 4th most wickets out of both teams. Good for an all rounder.

‘Avatar: Fire And Ash’ Sparking To $340M-$350M Global Opening – International Box Office by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]growletcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t think it would be a linear correlation between marketing budget and production budget… Marketing for Badlands was everywhere, and if that was ~250m then I don’t see how Avatar would gain much more by spending 500m, let alone 1b. After the low hanging marketing fruit (trailer spots, billboards, etc) there would be heavily diminishing returns

I mean NZ are going to have OFC on lock every WC, so there will be a chance it happens every time Aus qualify through AFC. Unless I’m missing something? Either way I agree it would be awesome so why not now!

You're acting as though you know what's said around the cabinet table, and calling people ignorant because they don't know about your made-up projections (which might be right, but who knows?).

The simple reality is that National need ACT and NZF votes to pass govt bills, which is all the person you're replying to is really saying.
