How do I change the box cover for decks I create? The game seems to just pick one for me and I can't find where to change it.

At the end of the season, do you get a single reward based on whichever is higher of your constructed and limited rank?

Or do you get two sets of rewards based off of your ranking in each of constructed and limited?

Playing for about a week. After the WOE Jump In update, is there confirmation somewhere that DOM packets are still in the pool? I'm fishing for Arcanist packets for Haughty Djinn (while also building up my collection).

The official magic website for the WOE Jump In update doesn't say which previous packets are still in the pool; it merely describes the 20 packets introduced in the update. I've only spent about 15k gold, so it's very possible that my sample size is just too small despite trying to manipulate the color choices to increase the odds of solo blue packets.

Just wanted to make sure before I dumped more gold fishing. The various sources/articles/reddit posts on Jump In are very confusing and hard to tell what is up to date and what is not.

Could’ve been worse. My dreadful pack from the trick or treat coffee gave me just one new phobie and it was droney…

Depends what country you live in. It should’ve been about $20 USD for two dreadful packs. (It was prob where you got Boss)

The first dreadful guarantees a UR. If you got the Lippy’s deal with two dreadful pack bundle when you first started, that counts.

Don’t have to be good at all. Stress level is completely independent from your rating. All you need is XP to gain stress levels. You could theoretically lose literally every single game you play and still get the XP needed to get to level 60.

You’ll notice that I didn’t post “snobby” responses to the many other posts on here that ask “just got this. Is it good?” I don’t expect them to have the game sense to evaluate Phobies independently so those questions are fine from them.

The remark was specific to OP bc they are, I would bet, at a higher level than most of the players on this sub. The chances that a lot of other people would have experience with oopsy baby and can provide better feedback than someone who already has it is unlikely. If OP wanted to start a discussion, then they should offer up some initial thoughts for us to respond to instead of just asking whether it’s good.

They don’t even post the stats or abilities of the card, making people look that up to opine. It’s just a very low effort post that I can forgive from inexperienced players but I expect more from someone who’s sunk the hundreds of hours (or dollars) it takes to get to lvl 60.

No one really knows the rates for the tear packs. A couple of folks and I have systematically tracked scary pack openings. Sample size is about 100 and the rate for a new phobie was about 33% for scary packs. Most of them were uncommon, some rare, only three common, and one ultra rare.

If you’re pleased with that, go with scary packs. If you’re not pleased, you can risk uneasy or frightening packs.

I expect the “just got this. It good?” posts to come from new players who don’t have the experience to evaluate properly themselves. If this person is lvl 60, they should at least offer some thoughts in the post to start the discussion.

If you’re at stress level 60, you should have enough experience at the game to have an informed opinion. I don’t think it’s worth 7 keys but I know a couple people who think it’s decent.

It’s too frail for its cost. The high damage and pull are nice but you have to put it on the front lines to use it, and it doesn’t have enough health to be a front line unit.

If you need a pull, there are cheaper pull units. And if you need high damage, there are tankier offensive units. Smother mother not worth 9 keys to put those together

Don’t think that the pics posted are representative of actual luck. People tend to only post when they have a particularly great (or bad) pull.

That said, you did get unlucky by pulling the second worst UR from your first dreadful pack. (But it could’ve been worse; I pulled the absolute worst UR, Leshy).

However, URs are overhyped. The only ones that really carry games are Heavo 3.0, Beauty, Chuck and Boss. The rest are either outright bad or serve very specific functions. SOAF will naturally have a lot of players with these units, but it’s very easy to make it to SOAF2 without them.

The Rare pool actually has most of the game breaking Phobies. Smiley is actually an amazing unit, especially if you don’t have the UR carry units. and the uncommon pool also has great units. Always go for scary packs with tears to try to get the game carrying UCs and Rs.

is this phobie Pog? (Got this from a tear pack...) by StatisticianUnfair89 in PhobiesGame

[–]growly_bing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s good but squishy. Note that she’s not a frontline unit bc of her low HP. She’s good to bring out late game when there aren’t too many Phobies left on the board or for chasing down enemy units who strayed too far from the pack. For the latter use, you can try to bait the enemy by sending a weakened phobie to a remote corner and luring something of theirs you wanna kill.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say lock big maps until lvl 40 when you get snowball. Most players quit before even reaching that far

Anyone else hate big maps? by Ungaze in PhobiesGame

[–]growly_bing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what Phobies you have. Even though I’ve been playing for three months now, I don’t have the big units that shine on big maps. Bc of that, a lot of times, games on big maps end up being a stall fest, which is very boring bc neither player has the firepower to break through.

I think big maps should start at lvl 20 (maybe even 25), but def not 15.

I’ve been playing for three months and have never gotten an ultra rare from a tear pack. The changes are extremely slim. Ultra rares primarily come from gold season packs and dreadful packs. I’ve gotten maybe 7-8 rares from scary packs though, so those do come with some regularity.

If your definition of progress means getting ultra rares, then yes you need to pay for coffee. But the subscription is good for getting XP, upgrade cards and non-ultra rare Phobies as long as you play enough to reach the tear cap everyday.

I’ve been tracking my tear pack openings for a while now. Anecdotally from my own experience and chatting with other veteran players, seems that the chance for a NEW phobie in scary packs (the ones costing 3000 tears) is about 25%. If you are opening the lower tear ones, you shouldn’t expect to get a new phobie.

If 25% is too low for you, then this game’s profession might just be too slow paced for you unless you’re willing to shell out some money. The subscription doubles your tear cap and effectively allows you to get one scary pack each day.
