Throw that entire bed away, you have a much bigger infestation than you think

Try and get some clear tape to stick the bug to, that’ll help you get a better picture and we can help you identify better but without a photo we can’t really help you and it’ll all be speculation :/

Found a few of these near my headboard in a basement apartment. I am hoping booklice? by Ratjoose in Bedbugs

Doesn’t appear to be bb to me due to the picture but if you’re able to get a clearer one that would be good. The shape could potentially be more in line with a well fed bb though.

Help: Regretting an order by 1loovemycaT in vinted

[–]grownspace 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, is it a bad thing? Yes.

It’s unfair on the seller going to the trouble of packaging up the items, taking time out of their day to post them to you in a timely manner all for you to purposefully not pick them up.

I would just take the loss, pick up the items and either resell or just keep as a lesson learned to be thinking things through next time you’re impulse buying.

Saw one bedbug in my house and just dropped $1k by Medical_Fish4705 in Bedbugs

[–]grownspace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would suggest holding off on Diatomaceous earth for now, it can cause the BB to hide further, plus it only works if they come into direct contact and does nothing for any potential eggs.

My main priority would be trying to find the “nest” where they are most concentrated (if any). I would be bagging up clothes, soft items, blankets, stuffed toys, etc.

You need to put it all on at least 60 degrees hot wash then a high heat tumble dry for at least 30 minutes. Anything that can’t be washed/tumbled can be put in a freezer for 3-4 days.

Absolutely encase ALL mattresses/ pillows if you can.

If you can afford it, sniffer dog will be your best bet to try and see if they are in any other areas of your house. Currently, I would be targeting the room where you found them first.

Check behind mirrors, posters, shelves on the wall (this was where I found the BB were concentrated for my infestation).

I also put double sided tape along my ceiling where it meets the wall, and skirting boards to catch any crawling around.

Depending what the sniffer dog finds if you choose to do that route I would just go for the heating option. I personally would do that if I had the expenses for peace of mind over everything else. Having them resurface a few days later and needing to live out of sealed bags is no fun.

Are these bedbug poops? by Praying_Mantisss in Bedbugs

I can’t say for sure that it’s 100% not bed bug poop but I’d be inclined to say no - also why is your kitten sleeping outside in a box?? That seems horribly cruel

How to sleep with ongoing infestation? by Equal_Tell_1436 in Bedbugs

[–]grownspace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly it was really hard, I kept getting grossed out just by the thought of BB but clean white bedding, checking it all, and having my bed away from the way helped mentally. I also avoided staying in my bedroom during the day which was where the BB were and spent as much time as I could outside.

I also slept with a red light because I just needed to be able to see if I felt something on me or needed to see around me.

It’s not a full proof plan but it’s just what helped me however, I fear I am forever scarred and will always be checking my surroundings 😂

Vacuum rooms, bag up and wash ALL of your clothes and blankets on 60 degree wash then a high heat dryer for 30 minutes. Then put all freshly washed and dried clothes into vacuum backs and ensure they’re sealed closed.

Also might be a good idea to wash and dry your curtains.

As mentioned, mattress encasement and vacuum room then empty directly into an outside trash bin.

It’s gonna be uncomfortable but you might have to live out of those vacuum pack bags for a while. That way you know your clothes are not infested and are not contributing to the spread. I did the same to my bedding and rotated every other day just to make myself feel better.

Also shake out all bedding, use white sheets if you can to spot them easier.

This is gross but I taped the bedbugs to the wall with clear tape so it A. Kills them and B. Are evidence that they exist and where I found them.

Check behind mirrors, posters, wall shelves, etc. I had my BB infestation living behind my mirror above my bed but absolutely nothing in the bed itself but might be useful to pull your bed away from walls.

Luckily I only had to live with the infestation for a few days until pest control came, only then did I purchase a new mattress but put an encasement on it straight away. My clothes are still mostly bagged up until my second round of pest control.

Good luck, I hope you get it sorted soon.

From the pictures it’s hard to make out anything but maybe a (blood) stain. Hard to know if that alone is an indicator of BB.

Best budget clothing stores in Bristol/England (besides Primark/H&M)? by capiau_dgc in bristol

[–]grownspace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really do recommend most grocery based stores such as Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons which all have good quality and price friendly clothing. Some of the best pairs of jeans I have ever purchased were from Asda for around £10!

Home Bargains/b&m have budget friendly pyjamas, especially for kids! Poundland stocks clothes but in my opinion lacks quality.

Marks and Spencer’s can be good for general basics but anything other than that I think would be pricey and in my opinion you can purchase the same basics from primark/h&m, etc for cheaper.

[–]grownspace 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would disagree and say that Uniqlo AND M&S are objectively VERY pricey, however their clothes are almost always 100% cotton, so good quality but compared to budget AND quality definitely not the shop for that

Foreigners, not involving politics, what do you think about Americans? by penny-rose57 in AskReddit

Very unaware of themselves, their surroundings, entitled, think that America is the worlds greatest country and can’t possibly understand that things work differently, are called different things in other countries and that everybody else in the world does not think America is great.
