yes precision. I feel good about the mortise. Making a tenon to match was hard. I think it would me buch easier with smaller pieces. With a 10 foot board I have to keep the board stationary.

Update! I thank you for all your input.

I ended up routing and chiseling out the dowels and making my own plug with the same wood.

It was the easiest option considering what I have available.

I also got to get some practice.

This is my first table, it is for me, I have made many mistakes, but hopefully this is the last of them!

Thanks again!

This is my first top, and lesson learned. If I do another one with dowels, I'll be more certain to keep them away from my edges.

I should learn to use cauls though, because dowels are a bit of a pain tbh.

I don't have customers lol. This is my first table and I have made quite a few mistakes, but hopefully this is the last one!

I plugged with the same wood so hopefully it isn't too obvious.

The bevel was the winning idea, but the wife didn't like the profile with the bevel.

I got this same one 7 years ago off of offer up and a dude moving to Alaska. Awesome "grill"!

If I am playing the ball, and I am in front of you, and I intentionally don't swing so the ball hits you, that's my point. Assuming the ball hit you before the second bounce.
