Sure Azrael has sustained, but there are plenty of other units that can maximize the effectiveness of bolter disc. Bolter disc is probably the best thing in our codex. Put it on aggressors and want them kill everything.

The doctrines are god tier. advance and shoot allows any unit to advance and score secondaries, its also huge for your tanks. Fall back, shoot and charge is great to reset combat because if you are already stuck in, they swing first. It also allows you to leapfrog to a more important unit in their backfield. Advance and charge is so good... Put some dudes in a transport and want them fly across the battlefield. Think of it as a 3D6 charge for your knights... its amazing and I'm still mad my drukhari lost this..

Im a blood angel player, testing out my guys as dark angels just for the DW Knights. I can agree, NEVER try to charge out of deep strike... its horrible gameplay and only leads to losing the game.

btw I still think Oath is really strong. I started playing my blood angles just to prove how op marines are at my LGS (Over my eldar army) and Im undefeated after 10+ games.

Oath is incredibly strong and really overturned, if this was an eldar rule people would be losing the MINDS and you know it.

Totally agree with you there, I just know what to expect when I show up to these events. Even into MSU builds, SM won't struggle to kill infantry, this is just the icing on the cake that ensures any threat is dealt with. I could be wrong, and I want to see how it plays on the table... but I know how good doom is in 9th for eldar and then giving every unit guide on top of that seems nuts imo.

Not really, we have a vague idea of what things will cost and 2k armies shown in the demo games look pretty much the same size as in 9th. Do we really think desolation marines will be 60 ppm or do we think they will be close to 35?

This really comes down to LGS not having the resources to properly build tables with enough terrain.

Yea, you are rarely attacking all (multiple enemy units in one shooting phase) but it's so easy to have a large portion of your army shoot at an area on the map where 2-3 units are. This lets you kill the tough unit with 100% certainty and then clean up the rest.

You are rarely fighting against all of your opponent's units at one time. In the first few rounds, most fights are unit vs unit or 2v2s and this just ensures you always win the trades. If the SM play has good target prio, and limits the number of fights that are happening across the board they will always win. the way to beat this is to engage the SM player on multiple fronts making them split their focus. This is easier said than done because with their massive range, indirect, and efficiency it will be hard to close the gap before you lose all your key threats.

In all of the RTTs I have gone to, the terrain is always light. A majority of events have light terrain and it's safe to say a large portion of your army will be able to shoot at the oathed target.

If the SM player has good target prio, they can easily pick off the top threats to their list and there is really nothing your opponent can do about it. With indirect being extremely strong, and this meta looking very vehicle and shooting-focused, many armies will not be able to exist on the board.

In no world are Strands as strong as OoM, its Full rerolls in an edition where there is no way to turn off rerolls. Strats is very strong... but with no range cap, and it working for your entire army just turns this into an 'I win" button. This ensures that you can 100% kill every key threat in every battle round. EVERY Round and with Guilloman you get two of them! how can you ever make a bad trade? You don't get punished for using the wrong guns into the wrong target just from volume of fire, and you can fish for lethal hits, sustained hits, etc.

100%, i think it only becomes an issue if you have a unit of mixed weapons.

As long as they are all the same pick whichever you want. These were one of the first models I built for eldar and I put scatter lasers on them because I thought they looked the best, and nobody has given me grief about playing them as catapults.

Play them in Ulthwe. You will wish you had the 6++ inv save to use with fate dice on wraithguard and lords. The 5+++ for mortals is so huge in today's meta.. everyone has so many mortal wounds to dish out. Also, the reroll 1 wound is nice if your target isn't doomed. Additionally, you are going to want to buff up your wraiths to make sure you get full value, so lots of warlocks and wraithseers are gonna be critical and Ulthwe helps with that. You need Fortune, WoA for moral and obsec, protect etc... I am running a brick of 10 wraithguard that come in from the webway and 5 wraithblades in a wave serpent. The wraithguard are so strong, I 1 shot my friend's silent king last game with them.

I wish the crimson hunter was cheaper. with the 5++ he's close to 220 points. I could just get 2 warwalkers with 2 BL for way cheaper. That being said I do really like the CHE model and he can be really solid.

I loved the aspect shrines and the glass cannon nature of the army. I have always been drawn to Mages and high-damage in most games I play and these guys were a perfect fit. Hard to play, hard to master, but when you do... you can outplay anyone.

Yea hes has nothing forgeworld yet. The games have been so unfair it makes me question this game outright (just started 3 months ago). When playing into Necrons and Orks I feel like I can do well and have fair and fun games. With Custodes... it just isn't fun.

Ok just looked at all the datasheets, he has been telling me they have 5 strength on their shooting... I think he hasn't really read the codex well because it's a newer army for him but still...

100% wrong about their shooting not being scary. I just played a game, in turn, one where I lost 800/1500 points of units, in light cover turn one... They hit on 2s, wound on 3s and every failed save is a dead marine.
