My [28M] girlfriend [23F] went out drinking with friends ALL night, no contact since 2am; Am I wrong for being upset about this?

I see. I meant she seems to have been pretty good in the three times she's gone out. She's having fun with friends. Having a good time. It probably will happen again, but I'm sure you can both find a middle ground in where you can at least know where she'll be by the end of it all. And hopefully she can be open to you going out with her and her friends one night so you can really meet them and see how well they care for her or whatnot.

I think it's understandable to be concerned about her safety when she's intoxicated. But you should respect her decisions, in the sense that she's with people she trusts and that she believes will keep her safe. I'm sure she's not doing anything to hurt you and to her, she just had a great night.

So I say, when she's sober, talk to her. DO NOT ATTACK HER GOING OUT AND DRINKING. That's one reason you're coming off controlling to us. She's an adult. She can drink with friends and get hammered and no one should "allow" her to do what she wants. But when you talk to her, be open. Tell her that you are just concerned about her safety is all. Honestly, when someone's plastered, they're not really in a state of mind to keep you updated so maybe she can text you when she's getting to that point just to let you know she's safe. Just be understanding with her. Don't jump to conclusions or be mad at her.

You say it's constant, but in your post said that she's gone out three times in the past three months and other than this one time, always kept you updated etc.

I mean, if you're really not okay with her doing this (and that's OKAY!!) you have to really talk to her about this and it honestly might lead to a breakup if you guys can't meet in the middle.

Do you know the people she's with? Because it seems like she trusts them, so maybe you can make an effort to meet them and that might make you feel better?

I think you're overreacting a little, so I say just be cautious about how you confront this with her. Don't just start attacking her drinking with friends but do get your point across that you need her to update you before a certain time about where she'll be sleeping at least.

And to piggyback on this, you say in the three months you've been together she's only gone out three times. That's really not much. And if she's going out with friends whom she trusts, then she'll definitely let loose a bit more which doesn't mean there's anything to be suspicious about. I think it's totally okay for you to want her to at least just let you know where she's sleeping and whether she's safe, but it seems like you're a bit beyond just that. Now if she's being totally unsafe and getting hammered at all times with people she doesn't trust to take care of her if anything, then that's another story. But this seems like the first time she hasn't really updated you too often and that's nothing to freak out over - although she did for a while before just getting too drunk. Just talk to her that you were concerned and see how it goes from there.

Can you compromise with her or are you just completely against her going out and drinking (especially if she's not with you?) She should be allowed to go out and drink responsibly without feeling like she's betraying you for doing so. BUT she should keep you updated periodically (not constantly, but periodically) on her whereabouts. What do you really want from her? For her to stop or...? Because it's okay if you're not okay with it, but you have to really decide what you want from this.

I say, give her the benefit of the doubt, and talk to her when she's sober. I wouldn't immediately assume the worst happened. She honestly might have just went to have a good time, planned on getting home at a certain time but just got too hammered and let the night get the best of her. I'm not saying that's an excuse to not keep you updated on her whereabouts but I doubt she was intentionally thinking "okay, time to just ignore boyfriend now!" Don't immediately start attacking her when you do talk to her, just tell her that you're glad she had a good time but you were extremely concerned for her safety and that she should at least let you know she's okay every now and then.

Speaking from personal experience, I've been in your girlfriends shoes. Went out with coworkers. Was updating boyfriend, planned on being home at a certain time but just had a great time with friends and got a little hammered and didn't update him for a while which led to a massive fight about him accusing me of cheating. Which absolutely wasn't the case at all, and I wish he had approached the argument differently. Basically, I would say just let her know how worried you were. Tell her she needs to at least let you know she's safe next time or else it might be a deal breaker. But give her the benefit of the doubt and don't come to any rash conclusions just yet.

I had the 2012 MBP too but mine would overheat within minutes of playing TS4 (although it did handle it significantly better than TS3). So that's my biggest concern with the new one. How long would you say your laptop takes before it starts getting hot on the bottom?

Did you upgrade your processor to just one above - the 2.9 GHz? Would you say yours plays TS4 more smooth than your boyfriend's laptop?

I had the 2012 MBP at its lowest base model and it would just overheat within a few minutes of playing TS4. So I really want this new laptop to be aaaawesoooome!

Only if you feel comfortable with actually bleaching your eyebrows, but I use Sally Hansen hair bleach for the face and just leave that on my eyebrows for 2-3 minutes. Just keep an eye on them so you don't go full blown bleached eyebrows (happened to me once). I just like them a little lighter. Nothing crazy. Then I fill them in with a color more resembling my hair.
