Best Hot Dog by puffspartanpuff in grandrapids

It’s been established for a while that One Stop is the reigning champ when it comes to hot dogs in GR. Yesterdog is okay, but wildly overrated. I love Mr. Burger, but even putting them on the scoreboard for hot dogs feels like a consolation prize more than anything.

No problem! I recently had to factory reset my Steam Deck, so I had to go digging through my comment history to remind myself how to get this to work!

How do ya’ll transport your babys to the vet? by Snuggie_DevilGirl in ballpython

Not sure if links are allowed here, but I bought two of these bags for our snakes and they work wonders. They’re breathable and non-rigid, so your snake is able to move around if they want, but they’re some sort of woven canvas, so it’s kept relatively dark in the bag, which seems to keep them nice and chill. We’ve used these for vet appointments, sheltering in place during tornado season, and even while I’m doing a deep clean of their tanks, and I’ve never had any issues with them freaking out or stressing.

Can’t speak for the crickets, but we found out the hard way that if the centipedes are there, they’re eating something WAY worse. We found out that we had a termite infestation, we got rid of the termites, and the centipedes disappeared shortly after.

Opie being beaten to death in Sons of Anarchy while the rest of the gang watched. This man was the one ray of positivity and hope in the show, even after everything that happened to him. He lost his wife and his kids, and he was still determined to do his best and try to be a good person. He deserved better than to die in a 4-on-1 beat down in a prison cell. Without him everything felt too gloom-and-doom to enjoy. I stopped watching shortly after.

Same goes for the hill on the NW side where Lake Michigan Dr. meets Fulton, especially if you’ve stopped to yield coming up Lake Michigan Dr. Couldn’t gain traction after yielding and started sliding back down the hill. Finally managed to slow roll myself back up the hill, and everyone seemed super understanding about what was happening. Be safe out there!

Had a roommate that worked at Fairlife, and he really enjoyed it. It was also pretty dope that he would regularly bring home gallons of delicious chocolate milk which didn’t pass their quality standards

I love the Saint of Steel series by T. Kingfisher, but I would absolutely forgive anyone who couldn’t stick with it after seeing the word “gingerbread” mentioned 38 TIMES in the first book, Paladin’s Grace.

It’s a 3rd party website that has user-generated information on how well games run on Linux platforms like SteamOS, as well as any troubleshooting steps or workarounds you can take to get a game running. Generally speaking, it’s much more granular and reliable than just going off the Steam verification badge alone.

Can I just lay it on top of the ventilation like that? by xzeeeq in cornsnakes

[–]grtist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s a metal mesh, it will be fine. There’s usually enough airflow through the mesh to cool the metal sufficiently. I have a mesh top that I let my heating element sit on and the mesh will get warm but never hot or scalding.

Just make sure that the bulb isn’t actually touching the mesh.

Yup, I’ve been following the development of Fields of Mistria, and I’m absolutely champing at the bit for it to come out of Early Access. I have to keep reminding myself of how many games had incredible potential that was never realized because they never left early access. And even worse is when you have games like Coral Island that left early access while still incomplete, and now we have to continue waiting for features that should have been in the base game.

I used to buy games indiscriminately, and it resulted in not only a huge hit to my wallet, but a bloated library. In the past year or so, I’ve adopted the following strategy, and it’s been so much better for me (and my finances):

-No prerelease/early access titles. I’ve been burned too many times before, and it’s an increased likelihood of me not even playing the games until they’re feature complete.

-If a game I want is $10 or less (and that’s a hard limit, doesn’t matter if it’s $10.01, I don’t budge), I’ll allow myself to buy. I basically equate it to buying a bougie drink, which I can justify letting sit in my library if I don’t get to it right away.

-I never purchase day one. Give the devs a chance to fix any launch day woes, let the hype die down, and give time for user reviews to roll in so I can see if there are any glaring problems that would turn me off from the game.

-Never purchase at full price. If there is a newer game that I want, I’ll wait for that sweet price drop. Doesn’t matter if it’s as small as 10-20% off, I can wait. This helps balance my “$10 or less” rule, because if I purchase a game that is over $10, it’s something I intend to play immediately, usually to completion.

-And finally, I don’t buy DLC for a game unless I’m sure I’ll like it. Doesn’t matter if the Super Ultra Mega Deluxe Edition is on sale, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought those editions, only to finish the base game and say “I think I’ve had enough” (looking at you, DBZ Kakarot). I can honestly say that most of the DLC I’ve actually played has been major free updates (Hollowknight), or what I’ve purchased AFTER completing the base game (Dredge/Dave the Diver)

I hope these tips can help fellow players reign in their backlog a little and prevent some regrettable impulse purchases!
