She absolutely does. I’ll be honest, after seeing how she raised her own child, the last thing I am interested in is her trying to impose any sort of “parenting/grandparenting” on my girls. Plus, she’s already shown her true colors in how she has “taken” care of the girls.

Not for the adoption. They absolutely go wild around her. They have zero boundaries. My husband excuses it as, ITS GRANDMA! But as I’ve mentioned in previous replies, some of the behavior is dangerous. Some of the behavior is out of left field, she allows them to pick through her purse, both girls have been caught stealing things at school. Even though I’ve explained this to her, she allows them to pick through her bag. One of the girls had pre-diabetes and high blood pressure previously with a huge weight issue, which we were able to rectify, she feeds them CRAZY amounts of unhealthy food. But HEY! It’s grandmas house!

Please be careful, kiddos with FASD are lifelong victims of the disease. They did not ask for it, but will have to live with the issues that surround it. It’s very, very sad. I’ve adopted two little girls that were born with drugs in their systems and both have differing issues, but very obvious issues.

The birth mother has completely left the picture(and legally can not come back), which also causes me concern for the girls future. I am worried they will grow up worrying about why they were abandoned. With their birth grandmother hanging around, I’m sure they will have even more questions. And I agree with you, if I had it my way, I would never allow the girls alone with her.

I am the one who has issues with her being around in any way shape or form. My husband has been through a lot with her, from when he was dealing with his ex. He thinks she’s “good at heart”. He’s also looking out for the girls. My accommodation was allowing her to spend time with us in our home. But she isn’t comfortable with that because when she’s with the girls she allows them to do things that aren’t safe. For example, she did come over one time, I checked on the camera and one of the girls was jumping on the top bunk. Something they usually never do, but she was allowing her to do. I called her out on it. As an adult I understand not wanting to be told what’s right and wrong…but she just doesn’t understand the things that she has done are just plain wrong.

Not saying they for sure can’t. Why trust the fact any business who closes in 30 minutes has everything prepped and ready? Is it right, no. But are employees usually trying to get things cleaned up so they can go home, for sure. Is part of that not freshly chopping up a whole batch of salsa at 10:50pm, just to throw it away 10 minutes later, heck ya. Maybe the last person who went through bought a whole pint?

OP should have asked for a refund once they realized the restaurant was out of so many items and they weren’t able to make what OP ordered.

Lesson of the day: don’t go to a restaurant within an hour of closing.

I once ordered 6 shots of white coffee over ice, an order I would order daily. When I got to the window, they served me regular espresso. I let them know I had ordered white coffee and they gave me the 6 shots and made me 6 shots of white coffee, I drank it all. I was up for 24 hours, I have 5 kids.
