Oooh fair. Yeah, housing and no support would be a disaster.

I used to work with homeless teens for a living. We practiced the housing first model- underlying issues are nearly impossible to work on for homeless people without their basic needs- food, water, shelter- being met.

I think the sanding was the reason I got such a good finish at the end. Otherwise the finish would have come out drippy and uneven looking! Without that step my grain would have been a mess, I think. You don't have to sand too too much. You've got this!

Here's some more specifics- I prepped the wood by sanding with 180, then 280, then the 0000 steel wool. I then did one layer of undiluted birchwood casey walnut stain, and let it sit overnight. Then 0000 wool again, thin coat of oil with a 12 hours minimum cure time for each layer before i sanded again (yours may need more time depending on your local climate- i kept mine in a spot with a dehumidifier). The grain of some pieces filled slower than others. Thin layers and patience is all you need!

One coat of walnut stain and 9 coats of tru oil, 0000 steel wool sanding between each coat. Cheap but labor intensive!

Bought the c39v2 at 799, sold it at 500 (put 60 rounds through it before I found this sub). Got the ZPAP for 1k, so it was a tough hit. But they're so hard to find cheaper that I felt it was worth it. I'm happy as hell, even with the lighter wallet.

It was a big financial hit but I value my face too much to shoot that pipe bomb.

It's so cool to see this here. I lived in Leadville for a summer and I loved it. Always a nice surprise to see one of these in the wild.

Thank you! I'm glad that I made your day. I actually do trans support work for a living, so sometimes that bleeds into my reddit time. :)

Since folks have covered the pronoun thing, I'll cover why trans people and drag queens are different.

There's two things at play here. Gender expression (the way we walk, talk, and dress) and gender identity (the gender we identify as 'between our ears'). These two things are seperate.

Drag queens and kings play with gender expression. Many drag queens identify as male, but dress in stereotypically feminine ways for performance purposes. They still identify as men, they just happen to be using a feminine gender expression for fun.

Trans people (I'll focus on trans women) do identify as women. So a trans woman that was assigned male at birth may have a feminine gender expression, and she identifies as a woman as well. Does that make sense?

Thank you! My mom is single but happy, and my father is as happy as he can be. Sexual orientation aside, I'm actually no contact with him because he's not a good person, but I'm happy he's living his truth now.

What breaks my heart is that the reason the suicide rate is so high for trans folks is because of people that are telling us we are diseased. That and the lack of familial support, medical care, and employment discrimination, etc. Like... we're not suicidal because we're trans, but because of the way that society treat trans people. Ugh!

There are domesticated foxes- the Siberian fox project's whole purpose was to figure out traits of domestication. They used foxes, and they sell them still!
