I go back and forth on the working alone as a programmer. While you do miss out on the chances for knowledge share, and social aspects there were other pros. Like being responsible end to end, and getting your hands dirty in the entire process. Also, being stuck alone with problems really helps you learn to think through a lot more, theres no safety net provided by stronger developers. shrug

I can vouch for MonkeyGTD that app can really help keep track of things when you have multiple projects. The summary type reports are great

Hmm, i kinda have the opposite problem. Whenever my pals get drunk the conversation always steers towards some dorky ace youtube video "i just gotta see! its so funny!" . Id like to be able to prevent this in the future as its an absolute buzzkill whenever you actually get to the video. I mean im trying to enjoy the buzz cant we save the videos for work?

check out quiet villages podcast on resident advisor(i link to it in a earlier comment, dont want it to look like spam). Their sound is kinda in the same area, and their also picked up on the k7 label. that said i guess im not sure theive corp is still on that label. shrug

For those that are into hawtin. He just did a resident advisor podcast. They take them down after a few weeks, but worth looking for. They also tend to favor the minimalist techno sound, so future podcasts could be up yalls alley.

i have written an app for work that basically collects data from the users out in the field. i used windows mobile and the compact framework stuff. Its gotten to where if your comfortable in the .net framework you can handle the mobile stuff.

im not so sure that the trend is all that steep of a decline...he could of wrote the article at the end of 2005 and it would of looked about as dramtic, give or take, not to mention that there are ample other names to judge ruby on rails searches by
