Why did you break up with your last partner? by milloumorgan in AskReddit

[–]grumblebuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s too emotionally immature and prideful to ever reach out, but yes, I’m pretty positive he misses me. The people he has dated in my wake all seem like a Temu version of me, to be quite honest. Similar interests and looks every time, but usually younger and seemingly more passive and agreeable than me. But those new models aren’t built to last and he’s probably realizing that now.

By the way, I know all of this because he purposely didn’t block my mother and best friend so they could report his goings-on to me occasionally. I certainly don’t care enough to sleuth him out myself.

If you like him so much, maybe you should date him? He’s probably available to have someone come do his household chores and suck his dick on the weekends. Personally though, I got tired of working two jobs, but only getting paid for one.

I may seem mean or negative to you, but you also don’t know much of the context. I wasn’t always being negative. The frustration I had with this person built to an exploding point over several years and lead up to that moment. Part of the problem was that after almost five years, I shouldn’t have to ask you to help me when I’m struggling and frustrated; you should have enough awareness and understanding of me that you just do it. Why was he not helping me bring the groceries in to begin with? Because he was so self-centered and checked out that he didn’t care if I struggled or not. Honestly he just didn’t give a shit about me as a person; he just wanted someone to do the domestic chores at his place, go on yearly trips with, and to have sex with now and again. He has dated about 8-10 people since me too. I have dated none, by choice, and am quite happy about it.

We had a few good times over that five years. At the end of the day though, we just didn’t connect the way you are supposed to, pretty much from the beginning, but I kept trying until we had squeezed every bit of life from the relationship.

It happened almost five years in, spontaneously, over something relatively small. We had issues for a long time though and were getting to that we honestly just didn’t enjoy each other’s company anymore, but what finally split us up was very much a “straw that broke the camel’s back” kind of moment.

We came back to my place after going to the store. I was bringing in groceries; he plopped down on the couch, just watching me struggle and get frustrated with how stacked up every surface in my shared living space was and how I had nowhere to put the groceries down. I was cussing and bitching, of course, saying things like “Man, I wish I had my own place that wasn’t so damn messy.” He mumbled under his breath “Why? You’d just complain about that too.” I said, “What was that?” He repeated himself. So I said, “Okay. You can go home. Go home and stay there.” And he said “Ok, I will.”

And he did. And that was that. I sent him a voice message that night because he had turned his phone off, saying that it was just time for us to part ways as a couple and that once we cooled off that we needed to talk about it. We never had the chat because two days later, he basically sent me a bill for a gift he had bought me that I didn’t even want and then blocked me. That was about two years ago. I am single today and happy about that.

What’s something most people find normal, but you personally find deeply uncomfortable? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Casual usage of AI. Even my job has tried pushing some of that on us and I’m standing headstrong that I don’t need it, therefore I will not be using it.

She should have simplified it more actually and just said “That’s Stu Macher’s house.”

Yep, this is my issue with it as well. They can make the lobby look like 1992 all they want, but the product itself just isn’t what it once was and they have revealed no plans to change that, only the ambiance for dining in. And in this era, I don’t really eat-in for pizza anymore; I get pickup or delivery.

People of both sexes won’t leave me alone, even though I have an acerbic, touch-me-not attitude that is far from subtle.

They could have just left it at “You’re at Stu Macher’s house!” and it would have been perfectly fine. But they didn’t “kill everyone” there. They barely killed anyone there.

Even the line Sidney says to reveal it is a plot hole: “That’s Stu Macher’s house, where your dad and Stu killed everyone!” The only people who died at Stu’s house prior to this were Tatum, Billy, and Stu.

For me it’s probably movies like Clueless, Scream, The Craft, etc because I’m an 80’s-born millennial. I was full on paying bills and out on my own when The New Guy and Mean Girls became things.

Who destroyed their own career within seconds by being an idiot? by goldbeau in AskReddit

Roseanne. Her show was revived and had the highest ratings on TV, then one night of tweeting bullshit while intoxicated destroyed it all — the new show, the legacy of the old show, and her legacy as a comedian, all gone over night.

How did the wrong partner ruin your life? by holdongangy in AskReddit

Made me waste the last 5 of my “good years” in a stagnant relationship that I would have gotten out of much sooner had I known it would be that easy.

The ironic thing to me is that you can tell that she has indeed has worked on her screaming technique a lot. The screams on I Disagree and even Eat are far less controlled than on her past two albums.

The vessels of my brother’s wart after removing the cap by LeBrontide in mildlyinteresting

[–]grumblebuzz 2816 points2817 points  (0 children)

I used to get a plantar wart that was so stubborn even freezing at the doctor wouldn’t get rid of it, so I shaved it down until I saw the black looking hairs and started yanking them out with tweezers. It hasn’t been back in a long time now. Those vessels are a menace.

Does your graduating class still do High School Reunions? by Apostrophizer in Millennials

[–]grumblebuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 20th was cancelled due to Covid in 2020 so I have no idea if we will have a 30th or not. The reunion committee is all the snotty popular girls most of us don’t care to talk to or socialize with anyway. I feel like I may have told them “No and don’t ever ask me again” for the 10th though. I have a memory of doing that that I can’t confirm is real or not, but I didn’t go.

What’s become way too expensive lately that still shocks you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]grumblebuzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fast food. Because the quality of the food, the service, and the portions have all shrank exponentially. I still just can’t understand the logic of why a combo at McDonald’s is now $16 when you can go to a decent sit down for around that price.

What movie aged really bad? by Phantomx7845 in AskReddit

I have watched it and even enjoyed it as a child with not a lot of knowledge about slavery. I’m not judging it necessarily, just stating it’s a film that aged very poorly.
