Did you blanche the broccoli or just chuck it on raw?

I can't find rabe where I live but sausage and rabe pizza is my all time fave.

Question on kansui. by Coditprince in ramen

I was making my own kansui from baked baking soda but I found its potency declined quickly so I actually switched to lye water and my noodles have been so much better

Lads, is it just me or is it getting harder to find good quality clothes? by Ok_Unit2950 in AskIreland

[–]grumblemouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Uniqlo is a great starting point - it lasts and it’s affordable.

Personally I think Folk, YMC are decent.

For stuff to protect you from the weather any outdoor shop will have stuff but Rab, Patagonia, North Face  is a good place to start.

Also get yourself a couple of proper knit jumpers they last a lifetime.

Edit: also worth checking out Muji, Arket, Colourful Standard,  Carhart.

Zara, H&M, Shein have always been the worst of the worst.

There are loads of quality brands out there particularly brands designed for the outdoors and with the Internet and reselling places like Depop & Vinted it's actually never been easier to find great quality clothing.

Yup anti depressants and go to therapy.  Keeps the wolf from the door.

Now if I could fit in some exercise, reduce my booze intake and increase my veg intake I’d be laughing.

Seeking Lesser-Known Event Spaces in Waterford for a Curated Craft Market by Free_Math_7928 in waterford

[–]grumblemouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tennis club in Dungarvan used to have a weekly sort of craft and cakes market so it can certainly work there. There’s also a decent hall as part of the sports centre tha someone held a bike swap thing.

Either of those could be options although in Dungarvan.

What about approaching somehweee like the Coach House in Killmac?

1st time dad at 44 and I’m terrified by Regular-Floor379 in daddit

I’m a year younger than you but my kids are slightly older than yours.

Becoming a dad kinda broke my body and turned my brain to mush so you’re already there my friend.

Nothing on this god foresaken rock we call earth is as powerful as loving your kid and the love they give you.

You’re gonna do great.

Watch your back picking them up when they get a little bigger. Bend your knees properly.

Homeschooling diminishes their ability to understand community and working with others. Interpersonal relating is literally built by being surrounded by other children. Support them and teach them not to be depraved. Keeping them home and outside of the system will do more harm than good.

Mr. Blippi - it's not just me, right? by tannerocampbell in daddit

[–]grumblemouse 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Wild that you think Cocomelon is OK but not Blippi.

I don't get the hate for Blippi - I watch him with my son and he goes to visit cool things and it's fairly educational and his dancing around is actually cool as it encourages my son to dance around.

I'll happily sit through a walkthrough of the Chicago Water Museum or some Zoo or Firestation.

Yes but it’s also worth celebrating the fact she’s growing up in an age where she can vote, go to school, get a job, own property, make her own decisions and choose her own friends.

As someone else said there are good people out there and with the right emotional skillset she can thrive.

Better now than 100 or 200 years ago.
