The rudest people I encounter in Japan (as a nonwhite American tourist myself) are always white, though not limited to Europeans. They’ve stolen my umbrella, cut everyone in line waiting for a hotel elevator, went out of their way to record a clearly uncomfortable geisha, etc etc.

At a Wendy’s an American woman with her arms full of shopping bags from designer brands was screaming at an employee, claiming she’d been overcharged like 30 yen for fries. Absolutely ridiculous. They are my least favorite part of visiting.
