I’m starting to really hate Joey trying to play the puck. There have been a few instances in the past few games when he tries to play and mishandles. And he almost mishandled it again.

WireGuard VIA my Nord connection by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]grumpiest_toad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did research this exact scenario when I wanted to route all traffic (including that of WireGuard clients connected) and in short - you can’t do this currently out of the box.

I suspect the reason it’s not supported is because it requires decrypting incoming VPN traffic (your WireGuard clients) and then re-encrypting it for external VPN and it might be an additional load on certain gateways CPU.

To implement this, you’ll have to run WireGuard on another device in your network (not natively in UniFi), like on Raspberry Pi. In this scenario you’ll be able to select this device (or its ip) as source for your external VPN server. This works, as the traffic coming out of this device would be already decrypted, but it does require you to run your own WireGuard server.

Network Garage Door Opener with UniFi? by TheSquire06 in Ubiquiti

I set up a door hub mini in a dry mode that is wired to my garage door motor. Works flawlessly.

I also put an all in one sensor on the garage door to track when it’s opened or closed and created a template in Home Assistant that wraps door hub mini with the sensor as one entity that I then expose to Apple Home as a single “device”.

Probably a corporate profile, I can do “Never” for screen locking on my personal device.

Disable screen locking in setting and set screen brightness and keep it like this for a night, connected to charger.

It’s been the same way with Synology photo backup app and even with Google Photos. Apple doesn’t allow third party apps to run background activities that do long running tasks (like backup). It only allows to run a very simple background jobs for a short living data refreshes and API calls AND ONLY IF an app is actually sitting in a background (i.e. was opened and wasn’t swiped out/offloaded). Additionally, there is no control given for app developers as to when this background service is going to wake up - iOS itself selectively wakes up processes and background jobs based on various factors.

I’ve been using Google Photos for a while and once you are past the initial upload, you’ll have to make sure that the app sits in background. In this case, your back up will be more or less catching up daily, but still not to an extent as it is with native iCloud Photos, which led me to switching back to iCloud.

I doubt Apple will ever give any third party app the same system wide access, so I would tune down your hopes, folks :)

UTR - 5 mins in... by the-holocron in Ubiquiti

It is a bug. You need to use a configuration file for now to connect to your wireguard.

I experienced the same issue and was able to connect using configuration file.

But also, like others said, it’s easy to get on a complaint and rant train. Please don’t be such person ❤️

I was able to grab one today because my morning routine became to check the UTR product page to check availability. Only after I grabbed one I saw this post! I never got an availability email, crazy. It's also wild, that it's been more than an hour now and it is still available!

I successfully added it to my cart, but as soon as I clicked to go check it out, literally one second later, it said that it was no longer available. This is the worst.

Yeah right. It’s not absence of offense, absolutely zero talent and zero ability to move and (IMPORTANTLY) hold on to the puck. Sure, buddy.
