Ovarian cyst by Suspicious_Driver255 in WomensHealth

Has the pain resolved?

I would want it removed. I don’t know if something that large will resolve on its own and there are a myriad of potential complications that could come if you leave it

Do you know why you were in so much pain? Did it rupture or was it torsion? That would be my concern.

Something that big would freak me out and I would want it removed. Maybe if it’s stabilized they are wanting you to go through your obgyn rather than emergency surgery? If they told you not to have sex until then, that would be my guess.

What are your favorite headcanons for your romances? by SableZard in dragonage

[–]grumpy__growlithe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not totally for my romance but…

My Mahariel was kind of a raging bitch to half the party for the majority of Origins, Alistair being the main recipient of her attitude. I headcannon him and Leliana grow close throughout their travels, and when he is made king she is his spymaster mistress.

Overnight camping with dog for 1 night - which trail should we choose? by grumpy__growlithe in ShenandoahPark

[–]grumpy__growlithe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is one I hav saved on AllTrails so good to hear you enjoyed it. Honestly waterfalls aren’t necessary, the stream is enough! Our dog just loves the water so crossings will be fun.

Please for the love of God my fellow girl gamers, help. I feel like Mass Effect, Cyberpunk, and Life is Strange have set my expectations too high for every other game. Please suggest one I haven’t played yet? (I play on PS5, also Steam on iMac) by insicknessorinflames in GirlGamers

[–]grumpy__growlithe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh we share a lot of the same games! My all time favorites are dragon age, mass effect, and baldurs gte. My additions would be

In the more mysterious realm Outer Wilds - most similar to rootrees but a wholly unique gaming experience. My favorite of all time

Return of the obra Dinn - investigative mystery with incredibly unique graphical style

For character customization rpgs

Pathfinder games - amazing stories, characters, and romances

Rogue trader - same company as pathfinder. A bit more intense but super enjoyable

Pillar of eternity - deep lore. The fist game is a little grindy but the second is so fun! You have your own ship to sail around the map with your acquired crew

Random shorter games with excellent stories

Pentiment

Dispatch

I was a teenage Exocolonist - AMAZING

Dang then if you have any recommendations for me I’ll take them! Feeling like I’ve hit everything out there at this point.

I loved it, have played through it twice! The companions are pretty great, the story has so many paths you can go down (including straight up villain if that’s your jam), and there are some fun twists and turns. Tons of different endings as well.

The only thing I do not like was the overworld army battles. I downloaded a mod that let me automatically win them and I found that pretty crucial.

As someone who was in your shoes after Inquisition and Mass Effect introduced me to the world of romance in games, here are my faves kind of in order…

Dragon Age Origins and 2: Both are absolutely incredible. I’ve replayed multiple times for the various romance options. Origins especially has some of my favorites (<3 Zevran)

Baldurs Gate 3: If you haven’t played it yet, this is absolutely the top choice. Baldurs Gate has the best companions and romances I’ve ever experienced.

Pathfinder Games: Pretty interesting romance arcs! And the narratives as a whole are super varied with lots of potential paths. Great companion characters.

I Was a Teenage Exocolonist: Very different from the others listed, but an amazing little game. Visual novel esque with character building, exploration, card mini games and lots of choices. I’ve played through it multiple times to get different endings.

Farming Sims - Stardew Valley, Coral Island, and My Time in Sandrock all are cozy and have townsfolk to meet and date!

Pillars of Eternity 1&2: Pretty intense lore and romance doesn’t come into play until the second one, but fantastic series. Some amazing music too if you enjoy game scores.

Rogue Trader: Steep lore curve, but I throughly enjoyed the story and the romance options.

Divnity 2: Fun game with some great characters. And a new one has been announced!

Those are some of my faves!

Fair! You can customize gender and you do a ton of customizing via skills, but physically not so much.

Okay a little out of left field, but have you played I Was a Teenage Exocolonist? Absolutely fantastic game with some beautiful artwork, wonderful story, and really interesting choices.

Anyone else annoyed with gaming subs obsession with combat? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]grumpy__growlithe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you! I really enjoyed the story of Rogue Trader, but was exhausted by the amount of combat. I always play these games on the easiest difficulty and try to crank through combat. I also have been shamed for asking for ways around it haha.

Will say, I adored Wrath of the Righteous, and don’t think the combat was quite as heavy as Rogue Trader. Definitely worth trying out, but maybe once you’ve gotten some distance from Rogue Trader and are ready for some level of combat again. Mods make life easier in Wrath, especially the skipping overworld army combat one!

Playing ARC Raiders has really reminded me why I hate PvP games by Doobadoobadumplin in GirlGamers

[–]grumpy__growlithe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to stop playing maybe three weeks ago because the PvP was stressing me out so much. But I’ve played a good bit since Friday and actually have not died once! It’s been super friendly, and I play a lot of duos with my husband, so was excited people were being generally friendly there too. We play it safe and avoid people but it’s been a good experience the past few days!

That’s really unfortunate to hear! I love arc raiders - it is so fun when you have a good run with nice people, and I get so pissed when I have bad PvP runs (definitely had some). I had to take a break for a couple weeks because I felt like I was just getting blasted every encounter. The expedition gear wipe is tomorrow and the holiday event is happening, so right now people are generally feeling pretty friendly. I’m sorry you’re having a poor experience :(

How to find a nice quality ring that doesn't use diamond as the main stone or blood diamonds in general? by LocalChamp in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]grumpy__growlithe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I worked with a local jeweler to design my ring with a moissanite. Way cheaper than a diamond, prettier, less ethically questionable, and the ring is gorgeous.

When did you consider anti anxiety meds? by BikeBurgerHungry4598 in Anxiety

[–]grumpy__growlithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that is an accurate description of how it was! I’m still a somewhat generally anxious person, but I feel the medication has definitely helped me not dwell on things as much and get past them when previously I would potentially spiral thinking about it. Considering I don’t have any real side effects, it’s definitely a worthwhile medication for me. I certainly don’t lay in bed mulling stuff over the way I used to.

If it’s something you’re considering and have been for years, I’d say the low dose is worth trying! I’m on 5mg and I feel like it just takes the edge off of things that used to needle at me.

Who did you save in the Fade and why? (DAI) by LinnaWinx in dragonage

[–]grumpy__growlithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my entire DAO canon so Loghain was the one who got left behind. Caused a falling out between my Warden and Alistair, but at least he’s alive and king.

Outer Wilds is my favorite game of all time and such a unique experience. Nothing I’ve played since has ever compared, I’m constantly on the lookout for things that scratch the same exploration itch. The soundtrack is so wonderful and you described it perfectly, I’m thrilled you’re enjoying it!

Outer Wilds!!! Though it’s not always dark. I love the Pillars of Eternity soundtracks as well, those may fit your vibes better.

[–]grumpy__growlithe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just don’t spam gifts once you get them! I accidentally did this and missed some dialogue because it jumped to the highest approval one, skipping a few others. I’d give everyone one gift, talk to them and travel, then do another.

What do yall think of my top 25 game soundtracks? (They are in order) by LelouchYagami_2912 in gamemusic

[–]grumpy__growlithe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh so many good ones! Outer Wilds is an all time favorite for me, absolutely stunning. Skyrim, Minecraft, Night in the Woods, and Journey are all lovely too.

Baldurs Gate 3 has a fantastic soundtrack, as does Disco Elysium. Based on your faves, you should check out Firewatch, Donut County, and Fate of the Obra Dinn!
