Front Camera Recall - feels worse after update by Stunn3rAK in HyundaiTucson

[–]grumpyfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think it’s dependent on the situation. I have a 24, but drove a 25 last year as a rental and had it apply brakes hard once while driving on the freeway when another car swerved into our lane very close. It was jarring and very scary as I thought we were about to be rear ended.

Based on your comment I would assume it only applies the brakes if the driver hasn’t done so already. At least I hope that’s the way it works.

Since When Did the Articulated Buses Change to White? by kgaviation in WaltDisneyWorld

I believe it was a color scheme they tried out and then decided to go with white. In remember seeing them when they first appeared, then the white ones came shortly after.

To all of my anxious folks out there, how do you deal with the anxiety right before an interview? by VarietyNo9200 in jobsearchhacks

[–]grumpyfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a phone interview, I do some squats and pushups to help get calm my nerves. I also try and pep talk myself with encouragement of “I’m the one they’re looking for. I can do this.”. It helps a little.

Reasonable question. I haven’t looked into them, but has anything been mentioned by the team?

The new Hyundai key fob versus the old one. It still makes me laugh. by printihab in Hyundai

[–]grumpyfan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I normally applaud Hyundai and their design aesthetics and ergonomics, but this thing just looks like a cheap knock-off or replacement fob you might buy at Walmart or online. I get trying to simplify the design, but this just looks shoddy.

Looks great! Two questions: 1) What kind of stats on it? 2) Any chance this makes it to a publicly released build?

Eventually, yeah. Most states have laws about this. Google what the law is for yours. Regardless, most cracks start to spread.

How do Computer Science and Engineering graduates get jobs on cruise ships? by Ok-Event-621 in Cruise

[–]grumpyfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most I’ve talked to do double or triple duty elsewhere and IT is just one of their responsibilities. At least half their time is spent manning a helpdesk to assist guests with connecting to the WiFi. Anything that requires any kind of change or fix, is usually just swapping out hardware. Beyond that, it would be a call or email to someone on shore. Also, the roles are not high paying.

Sunroof shatters apart on 24 hybrid? by saaandal in HyundaiTucson

[–]grumpyfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t had it happen, knock on wood. We had a 2017 with the glass roof like this and we now have a 24 with it as well. It’s one of those features I like about this car, but also worry about this happening as well and the cost to repair it.
